Chatsworth, Edensor Baslow & Bubnell - Temporary Footpath Closure due to Horse Trials

What is happening?

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
SPECIAL EVENT
TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.1 CHATSWORTH (WHOLE), NO.4 EDENSOR (PART) AND NO.23 BASLOW & BUBNELL (PART).

WHEN: 6 May to 29 May 2024.
WHERE: Close the whole length of Chatsworth PF No.1 and the section of Baslow & Bubnell PF No.23 between its Jct. with Chatsworth PF No.1 and Baslow & Bubnell PF No.25. Close Edensor PF No.4 from where it meets Chatsworth PF No.1 to Edensor PF No.10.
REASON: To facilitate public safety during the movement of vehicles and animals during the setup and derig of the horse trials event.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From the south, follow the signposted route along the track through the Deer Park which deviates off north-eastwards after 490m towards the river. Follow the path alongside the river. Cross the footbridge to join the Caravan Park driveway and follow the signposted route to join Baslow & Bubnell PF No.23. Vice Versa from the north.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533190.
The County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
