What is happening?

(Public Footpath LSO/10/30, Chipping Sodbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 13 April 2022, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 24 October 2024 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath LSO/10/30. This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new development construction works and would have expired on 24 April 2024.

(France Lane, Hawkesbury Upton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of France Lane which extends from a point 225m north west of A46 north westwards for 50m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection installation works. The order will be operative from 17 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. (Merlin Road – Eastbound and Westbound, Almondsbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of the eastbound* and westbound* carriageway of Merlin Road which extends from its roundabout junction with Hayes Way to its roundabout junction with Cribbs Causeway Regional Shopping Centre. *Eastbound and westbound closures are separate. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon drainage connection works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 22 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration.

(Henfield Road, Pucklechurch) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Henfield Road which extends from Coxgrove Hill northwards for 141m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with overhead cabling works. The order became operative from 26 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: Henfield Road, Westerleigh Road, Westerleigh Hill, B4465 Westerleigh Road, Parkfield Road, Coxgrove Hill and vice versa
(Shellards Road, Longwell Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Shellards Road which extends from Bath Road northwards for 25m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with gas main upgrade works. The order will be operative from 13 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. Alternative route: Woodward Drive, Marsham Way, Bath Road and vice versa

Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; delivering postal packets; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge. N.B. It is likely only part of the roads listed are affected by the changes, and not the full length of each road. 2. Ref. L3/STOP/PT.7535 – (Pendennis Road, Staple Hill – Protection of School Entrances) (Prohibition of Stopping) Order 202(-) – under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1) and 4(2) of the said Act the effect of which will be to protect areas marked with school entrance markings in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 in lengths of Pendennis Road, Staple Hill, in the vicinity of Christ Church (Church of England) Junior School by prohibiting any person stopping
between the hours of 8am and 5pm on Monday to Friday, as shown on
traffic signs placed at that location. Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of building or demolition works; removal or obstruction to traffic; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties and fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make the following orders under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Act 1984 as amended. 1. Ref. L3/STOP/PT.7209 – ((Broad Street, Staple Hill) (Designated Electric Vehicle Parking Place) Order 202(-) – under sections 32 and 35 of the said Act as amended the effect of which will be to introduce a designated electric vehicle parking place in Broad Street, Staple Hill, between 6am and 10pm, the times are limited to a maximum stay of 4 hours with no return within 6 hours. 2. Ref. L3/STOP/PT.7210 – (Broad Street, Staple Hill) (Designated Car Club Parking Place) Order 202(-) – under sections 32 and 35 of the said Act as amended the effect of which will be to designate a Car Club parking place in Broad Street, Staple Hill, to be used at all times for the waiting of vehicles operating under a community Car Club car share scheme approved by South Gloucestershire Council. 3. Ref. L3/STOP/PT.7211 – (Broad Street, Staple Hill) (Designated Police Parking Place) Order 202(-) – under sections 32 and 35 of the said Act as amended the effect of which will be to introduce a police vehicle parking place in Broad Street, Staple Hill. 4. Ref. L3/STOP/PT.7921 – ((Broad Street, Staple Hill) (Designated Disabled Persons’ Parking Places) Order 202(-) – under sections 32 and 35 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the said Act the effect of which will be to: provide designated disabled persons’ parking places at locations in Broad Street, Staple Hill; and revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (Broad Street, Staple Hill) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2017, the provisions of which, with regard to the Disabled Persons’ Parking Places, will be brought forward unchanged into the new order, as part of the Staple Hill wide scheme.
