What is happening?

(U4078 THE HILL, MILLOM, C4029 HAVERIGG, C4028 CORNEY FELL
AND LINGMELL CLOSE, MIREHOUSE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 6 May 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
1. U4078 The Hill, Millom - From 6 May 2024 for approx. 1 day
(Ref: TTROC/10395)
From its junction with the A5093, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 60m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U4078 and the A5093
2. C4029 Haverigg - From 7 May 2024 for approx. 3 days
(Ref: TTROC/10431)
From its junction with the A5093 to its junction with Tarnhead Lane.
Alternative Route: via Main Street, Poolside, Haverigg Road, Palmers Lane and the A5093.
3. C4028 Corney Fell, near Ulpha - From 13 May 2024 for approx. 2 days
(Ref: TTROC/10387)
From its junction with the A595 extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 2.3km to its junction with the U4064Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C4028, C5007 and the A595 Duddon Bridge.
4. Lingmell Close, Mirehouse, Whitehaven - From 14 May 2024 for approx. 1 day
(Ref: TTROC/10559)
The entire length of Lingmell Close from its junction with Borrowdale Road.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
