MERIDIAN ONE AREA - PROPOSED RESTRICTED PARKING ZONE (RPZ)

PROVISION OF DEDICATED DISABLED BAYS, RESIDENT PERMIT PARKING PLACES, CAR CLUB BAYS AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (the Council) propose to make The Enfield (On-Street Parking Places) (Meridian One) Order 202*, The Enfield (Free parking Places) (Personalised Disabled Persons) (No.*) Amendment Order 202* and The Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

(a) provide resident permit holders parking places (MW1) operating between 9am and 9pm in Cranesbill Way, Oxeye Way, Vernal Way and Vetchling Way which may be used by those displaying a valid resident’s permit (MW1);

(b) provide permit holders only parking places (MW1 and MW2) in Vetchling Way outside and opposite Meadowpip House and opposite the side of No. 33 Kimberely Road which may be used by those in possession of a valid visitor’s digital parking permit (MW2);

(c) provide three disabled persons parking bays in Cransebill Way adjacent to Small Copper House;

(d) provide three car club bays operational at all times in Vetchling Way opposite the side of No. 33 Kimberley Road;

(a) provide a new Restricted Parking Zone (RPZ), that would ban waiting and loading by vehicles between 9am and 9pm in Cranesbill Way, Oxeye Way, Vernal Way and Vetchling Way in every length of road not occupied by the parking places described in paragraph (a), (b), (c) or (d) above;

(e) A residential household whose postal address is listed in the Schedule to this notice, will be eligible to purchase one resident permit (MW1) at the rates set out in section (g) of this Notice;

(f) Residents whose postal address is listed in the Schedule to this notice, will be eligible to purchase digital permits (MW2) on behalf on their visitors at the rates set out in section (h) of this Notice;

(g) provide that the charge for the issue of a residents' permit will be in accordance with the schedule of charges in the Table below, and that the residents' permit will be valid for a period of 12 months running from the beginning of the month in which it first becomes valid;

(h) provide that the charge for the issue of digital permits (MW2) applied for by residents on behalf of their visitors, upon validation, will be valid for a single half day period single period, will be £2.10 each. Digital permits (MW2) will be available for purchase in bundles of 10 digital permits (a maximum of 50 parking cards may be issued to a household in a 12 month period).

3. A copy of the proposed Order and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected at the Town Library, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX, Monday to Fridays 9am – 5pm inclusive, or online at: https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/roads-and-transport/traffic-management-orders/

4. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders or make any other representations must do so by 8 May 2024. Any such objection or any representation must be in writing, quoting reference TG52/1562, and must state the grounds on which it is made. Objections or representations can be made in any of the following ways:

• posted to: the Head of Highways, Traffic & Parking, Enfield Council, Silver Street, Enfield, EN1 3XA.
