Essex, Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restriction due to Works.

What is happening?

(Hackmans Lane, Purleigh/Cold Norton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hackmans Lane, Purleigh/Cold Norton in the District of Maldon, from the junction with Goat House Lane to the junction with Stow Road a distance of approximately 4710m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th May 2024 for 138 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN01334560/EN01334561 -Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Stow Road, Latchingdon Road, Fambridge Road, Barons Lane, Chelmsford Road, Burnham Road, Goat House Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 18th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Temporary Introduction of a Clearway & Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) Order (No.2) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Maldon as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in those lengths of road as specified in the schedule.

3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 18th April 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network.

The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Description: from the junction with Newport Avenue for a distance of approximately 700m in a northerly direction

Alternative Route: Summerhill/Burnham Road, B1018, Maldon Road, Burnham Road, B1010, B1018, A414, B1418, Burnham Road, B1012 and vice versa (with access only into Fambridge Road)

Road: Scotts Hill, Southminster

Description: from its junction with Steeple Road for a distance of approximately 530m in a westerly direction

Alternative Route:

Diversion 1: B1021, B1010, Summerhill/Burham Road and B1018

Diversion 2: B1018, Steeple Road/Maldon Road, The Street, Bradwell Road, Steeple Road, Bradwell Road, Maldon Road, B1021 and B1018

Road: Southfield Way, Southminster

Description: from its junction with Oak Drive to its junction with Scotts Hill a distance of approximately 50m

Alternative Route:

Diversion 1: B1021, B1010, Summerhill/Burham Road and B1018

Diversion 2: B1018, Steeple Road/Maldon Road, The Street, Bradwell Road, Steeple Road, Bradwell Road, Maldon Road, B1021 and B1018

Road: Lower Burnham Road, North Fambridge/Cold Norton

Description: from a point approximately 1135m east of the junction with Rookery Lane for a distance of approximately 585m in a westerly then north westerly direction

Alternative Route: B1012, B1418, A414, B1018, Summerhill/Burnham Road, B1010 and vice versa (with access only into Fambridge Road)

Road: Limebrook Way, Morrisons including Roundabout, Maldon

Description: from a point approximately 200m north west of its junction with Lancaster Avenue including whole Roundabout a distance of approximately 225m in a north westerly direction

Alternative Route:

North Diversion: A414, Maldon Road, A1114, A138, Generals Lane Roundabout, Main Road B1137, Maldon Road B1019, B1018,A414 and vice versa

South Diversion: B1018, B1010, Fambridge Road, B1012, Burnham Road, B1418, A414 and vice versa (with access only into Wycke Hill, Spital Road, Wycke Hill Business Park and Limebrook Way)

Road: Mill Road, Maldon

Description: from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Wantz Road a distance of approximately 525m

Alternative Route:

Diversion 1: Park Drive, Limebrook Way (B1018), A414, Spital Road, High Street and vice versa
Diversion 2: Cross Road, Fambridge Road onto Diversion 1

Road: Fambridge Road, Maldon

Description: from its junction with Spital Road, to its junction with Volwycke Avenue a distance of approximately 990m

Alternative Route: Fambridge Road, B1018, A4141, Spital Road and vice versa

Road: New Street/ White Horse Lane, Maldon

Description: from the junction with Fambridge Road to the end a distance of approximately 205m

Alternative Route: No diversion available

Road: Park Street, Maldon

Description: from its junction with Fambridge Road to its end a distance of approximately 105m

(North Street, Maldon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of North Street, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 70m north east of its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 60m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd April 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WDNPMN2R01 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while civils works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via North Street, The Hythe, Church Street, High Street and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
