Havant Road and Farlington Avenue - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Havant Road and Farlington Avenue) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.48) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 29th April 2024 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
STATION ROAD
At its junction with Havant Road.
PORTSDOWN AVENUE
At its junction with Havant Road.
LEALAND ROAD
At its junction with Havant Road.
FARLINGTON AVENUE
From its junction with Havant Road to it's junction with Blake Road.
(29th July 2024 to 30th August 2024)
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
HAVANT ROAD
From its junction with Station Road to its junction with Eastern Road.
(29th April 2024 to 26th May 2024)
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas main works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 29th April 2024 to 30th August 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections, as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place. Closures on Station Road and Portsdown Avenue between 29th April 2024 and 26th May 2024 will not be at the same time as closures on Lealand Road during the same period.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted:
Station Road: Station Road, Central Road, Lower Drayton Lane, Havant Road and vice versa and Havant Road, South Road, Central Road, Station Road.
Portsdown Avenue: Havant Road, Drayton Lane, Solent Road, Portsdown Avenue
4th Havant Road, Farlington Avenue, Solent Road, Portsdown Avenue.
Lealand Road: Havant Road, Eastern Road, Grove Road, South Road, Central Road, Lealand Road and Havant Road, South Road, Central Road, Lealand Road.
Farlington Avenue: Havant Road, Eastern Road, Grove Road, Station Road, Portsdown Avenue, Moortown Avenue, Farlington Avenue and Havant Road, Portsdown Avenue, Moortown Avenue, Farlington Avenue.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
