What is happening?

NOTICE OF VARIATION OF OFF-STREET CAR PARK CHARGES
CITY OF COVENTRY (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2005 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that with effect from 6th May 2024, the Council of the City of Coventry (“the Council”) will be amending its existing off-street car parking charges. The aim of the changes is to ensure that car parking in the city represents good value for money whilst optimising the use of the available spaces, minimising undesirable environmental impacts and standardising tariffs where relevant. The changes are as follows: Short Stay Car Parks

(Barracks multi-storey, City Arcade, Salt Lane, Spon Street, West Orchards Shopping Centre) The Council intends to vary the charges on the above short stay car parks as follows:

Monday - Sunday (00:00 to 23:59)

No. of hours - Up to 1hr - Up to 2hrs - Up to 3hrs - Up to 4hrs - Up to 5hrs - Up to 6hrs - Up to 7hrs - Up to 8hrs - Up to 9hrs Up to 10hrs - Up to 12hrs - Up to 24hrs

Current charge - £1.00 - £2.00 - £3.00 - £4.00 - £5.00 - £6.00 - £7.00 - £8.00 - £9.00 - £10.00 - £10.00 - £10.00

New charge - £1.10 - £2.20 - £3.30 - £4.40 - £5.50 - £6.60 - £7.70 - £8.80 - £9.90 - £11.00 - £12.00 - £12.00

Long Stay Car Parks (Bishop Street, Gosford Street, Grosvenor Road, Grove Street, Lower Ford Street, Manor House Drive, Station car park)

The Council intends to vary the charges on the above long stay car parks as follows:

Monday - Sunday (00:00 to 23:59)

No. of hours - Up to 1hr - Up to 2hrs - Up to 3hrs - Up to 4hrs - Up to 5hrs - Up to 6hrs - Up to 7hrs - Up to 8hrs - Up to 9hrs Up to 10hrs - Up to 12hrs - Up to 24hrs

Current charge - £1.00 - £2.00 - £3.00 - £4.00 - £5.00 - £6.00 - £7.00 - £8.00 - £9.00 - £10.00 - £10.00 - £10.00

New charge - £1.10 - £2.20 - £3.30 - £4.40 - £5.50 - £6.60 - £7.70 - £8.80 - £9.90 - £11.00 - £12.00 - £12.00

Suburban Car Parks (Clay Lane, Far Gosford St, Holmsdale Rd, Warwick Street, Wellington St)

Wellington Street and Holmsdale Road Car Parks are currently free to use all day, and this is inconsistent with other out of town (suburban) car park facilities. The following charges will be introduced in all suburban car parks to ensure greater consistency:

Monday - Sunday (00:00 to 23:59)

No. of hours - Up to 1 hr 1 - 2 hrs 2 - 4 hrs 4 - 24 hrs

Current charge - £0.50 - £1.00 - £2.00 - £5.00

New charge - £0.60 - £1.10 - £2.20 - £5.50

Coach Parking, (White Street)

The Council intends to vary the charges on the above coach park as follows:

Monday - Sunday (00:00 to 23:59)

No. of hrs - Up to 3hrs - Up to 12hrs - Up to 24hrs

Current charge - £2.50 - £5.00 - £10.00

New charge - £3.00 - £5.50 - £12.00

Season Ticket Changes

The Council intends to introduce the following charges for season tickets:

Short Stay (Available in Barracks, Salt Lane, Spon St)

Quarterly Ticket - Annual Ticket

Current - £430 - £1,560

New Charge - £480 - £1,750

Long stay (Available in Bishop Street, Gosford Street, Grosvenor Road, Grove Street, Lower Ford Street)

Weekly ticket - Quarterly ticket - Annual ticket

Current - £17.50 - £286 - £1,040

New Charge - £19.00 - £320 - £1,150

A copy of the proposed Memorandum of Variation and the Statement of Reasons may be inspected at Council House Reception during normal office hours or on the Council’s website at www.coventry.gov.uk/parking

Notice is hereby given that with effect from 6th May 2024, the Council of the City of Coventry (“the Council”) will be amending its existing on-street car parking charges across the city. The aim of the changes is to ensure that on-street car parking charges represent good value for money whilst optimising the use of the available spaces and minimising undesirable environmental impacts.

The changes are as follows:-

Tariff Zone Premium - Monday - Sunday (00:00 to 23:59)

No. of hours - Up to ½hr - Up to 1hr - Up to 2hrs

Current Charge - £1.00 - £2.00 - £3.50

New Charge - £1.10 - £2.20 - £4.00

Tariff Zone 1 - Monday - Sunday (00:00 to 23:59)

No. of hours - Up to ½ hr - Up to 1hr - Up to 2hrs

Current Charge - £0.50 - £1.00 - £2.00

New Charge - £0.60 - £1.10 - £2.20

Tariff Zone 2 - Monday - Sunday (00:00 to 23:59)

No. of hours - Up to ½hr - Up to 1hr - Up to 2hrs - Up to 3hrs - Up to 4hrs

Current Charge - £0.50 - £1.00 - £2.00 - £3.00 - £4.00
