SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Roundway by Phone Box North then North West to Car Park (Part), Devizes: from a point approximately 250m north of its junction with C249 for a distance of approximately 200m in a north westerly direction to enable National Grid to carry out work to install belllmouths, plant crossing install and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 06 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 until 10 May 2024.

B) Green Lane (Part), Devizes; from its junction with Kempsfield for a distance of approximately 35m in a southerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out high voltage reinforcement work, installation of joint bay and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 07 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 until 14 May 2024.

This Order will come into operation on 07 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 16:00 for 2 days. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on the following lengths of roads:
A) A350 (Part), Lacock, Chippenham, Corsham and Chippenham Without; from a point approximately 80m south of Lackham Roundabout to a point approximately 100m south of Bumpers Farm Roundabout. B) A420 (Part), Chippenham Without; from a point approximately 170m north west of Bumpers Farm Roundabout for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out implementation of narrow lanes to allow new carriageway construction and associated works. The speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This speed limit restrictions will come into operation on 06 May 2024 and will be required until 01 November 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. SECTION 16(A) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to temporarily close to all traffic: A) Church Walk, Devizes; from its junction with A342 Nursteed Road to its junction with Brickley Lane. Alternative route via Brickley Lane - A361 Estcourt Street - A342 Nursteed and vice versa. And to close temporarily to all vehicular traffic under a rolling road closure: B) A342 Nursteed Road, Devizes; from its junction with A360 Southbroom Road to its junction with Monument Hill. C) Roseland Avenue (Part), Devizes; from its junction with Nursteed Road to its junction with Longcroft Avenue. D) Longcroft Avenue, Devizes; from its junction with Roseland Avenue to its junction with Brickley Lane. E) Brickley Lane (Part), Devizes; from its junction with Longcroft Avenue to its junction with Bricksteed Avenue. F) Bricksteed Avenue, Devizes; from its junction with Brickley Lane to its junction with Nursteed Road. The above closures B) to F) will be managed on a 'rolling road closure' basis and will be reopened to traffic as soon as safely possible to enable LPS Events to carry out Devizes Half Marathon and 10km race. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 14 April 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 13:30 for one day and will recommence on 29 September 2024 between the hours of 08:00 and 12:00 for one day. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Alternative route via alternative existing highways. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 15 April 2024 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 10 May 2024. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024
The above order, made on 27 March 2024, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert Sutton Benger path no.11 over the land situate at Lake Farm, Draycot Cerne, in the parish of Sutton Benger, leading from at OSGR ST 9324-7760 in a broadly north easterly direction for approximately 390m to OSGR ST 9358-7776, to a new route at OSGR ST 9324-7760, leading in a generally, north easterly direction for approximately 165m, then south easterly direction for 225m, then in an east north easterly direction for 125m, continuing in a broadly northerly direction for approximately 260m to OSGR ST 9358-7776, having a width of 2m. And thereupon the Calne and Chippenham Rural District Council Area Definitive Map dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly. (Both previously advertised as 2023) Notice is hereby given that on 3 April 2024 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is as follows: Order 1 - To revoke The County of Wiltshire (The Street (C15), Compton Bassett) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 1996 and re-enact it, in the above Order 1, and to introduce a 30mph speed limit on C15, Compton Bassett - from a point 95 metres north west of its junction with Briar Leaze to a point 441 metres north west of that junction; Order 2 - To revoke The County of Wiltshire (C15, Compton Bassett) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2018 and re-enact it, in part, in the above Order 2 and to introduce a 40mph speed limit on C15, Compton Bassett - from a point 30 metres south of the driveway entrance to property known as Dugdales Farm House to a point 48 metres north west of its junction with the road leading to property known as Breach Farm. A copy of the Orders can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
