What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(GARSTANG ROAD, ST MICHAELS, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Garstang Road, St Michaels from the point of its meeting with Tarnacre Lane to outside the property "Oakdene House".
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 2000 hours until 0600 hours on Friday 19th April 2024 until Monday 29th April 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
Tarnacre Lane – The Avenue – Garstang Bypass Road – Garstang Road – James Towers Way – Whittingham Lane – Newsham Hall Lane – Woodplumpton Road – Moorside Lane – Lewth Lane – Carrs Green – Mill Lane – Preston Road – Lodge Lane – High Street – Thistleton Road – Fleetwood Road – Larbreck Road – Garstang Road – Blackpool Road – Garstang Road and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway inlay works to be carried out by LCC Highways.
