What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(MARCHMONT ROAD AREA)
(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION)  ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/49

The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate sewer installation works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on: (i) Meadow Pl, at its jnct with Marchmont Rd; & (ii) Warrender Park Ter, at its jnct with Marchmont Rd; (b) drive or cause or permit any motor vehicle to be driven on Marchmont Rd, from Melville Drv to Warrender Park Rd, otherwise than in a northbound direction; & (c) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on: (i) Marchmont Rd: (1) west side, from Melville Drv to Warrender Park Rd; & (2) east side, from its jnct with Melville Drv, southwards for 140m; & (ii) Meadow Pl, west side, from its jnct with Marchmont Cres, northwards for 50m. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic with respect to the closures are via: (i) Meadow Pl – Meadow Pl, Marchmont Cres, Warrender Park Rd & Marchmont Rd; & (ii) Warrender Park Ter – Warrender Park Ter, Spottiswoode St, Warrender Park Rd & Marchmont Rd. The alternative route for vehicular traffic with respect to the one-way restriction is via Melville Drv, Argyle Pl, Warrender Park Rd, Marchmont Cres & Marchmont Rd. Existing restrictions may be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (c). The order shall have effect from 15/4/24 to 28/6/24.
