What is happening?

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE
NORTHWOOD & TINKERSLEY FOOTPATH NO.’S 1, 2, 3 & 11 (WHOLE) &
BRIDLEWAY NO.4 (PART).
ROWSLEY FOOTPATH NO.11 (WHOLE)

WHEN: 15 April 2024 to 14 October 2024.
WHERE: Close the whole length of Northwood & Tinkersley footpath numbers 1, 2, 3 & 11. Close Northwood and Tinkersley bridleway No.4 from Fern Cottage to where it meets footpath No. 8. Close the whole length of Rowsley footpath No.14
REASON: To facilitate public safety whilst forestry works are carried out.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From Dale Road North follow Rowsley footpath No.13. Take the first left off Cote Hilloc to Tinkersley farm Northwood and Tinkersley bridleway No.4. At the closure point on bridleway No.4 travel North on footpath No.8. Follow footpath No.8 until it meets bridleway No.12. From bridleway No.12 you can travel North to Chesterfield Road or travel South to bridleway No.5. At bridleway No.5 travel West to meet Lumb Lane.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533190.
The County Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
