Gowans Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(GOWANS LANE, BRINDLE, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Gowans Lane, Brindle from its junction with Hillhouse Lane for 150 metres in a south easterly direction.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 1130 hours to 1730 hours on Thursday 18th April 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. Access to be maintained wherever and whenever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
Duxon Hill – Back Lane – Dover Lane – B526 – Hillhouse Lane
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow telecom pole replacement works to be carried out by Sunbelt Rentals Ltd on behalf of BT Openreach.
