Order 2024
The Council on 5.4.24 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic on a 1485 metre length of B1287 The Graham Way between its junctions with Bournemouth Drive and The Avenue / New Strangford Road Roundabout, Seaham to enable carriageway patching prior to surface dressing works to be undertaken. It has also been necessary to temporarily suspend the 7.5t weight restriction on B1404 Station Road between B1285 and The Avenue / New Strangford Road Roundabout, Seaham as detailed in the County of Durham (Seaham Prohibition of Entry and 3 Ton* Unladen Weight Restriction) Order 1982 (* amended in 1993 to 7.5 tonnes). An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the southwestern side of the closure from B1285 northwards then south easterly on B1404 Station Road to New Strangford Roundabout to the northeastern side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence between 9.30 am and 2.30pm on 16.4.24 and are anticipated to be completed in 2 days. On occasions, alternative dates for suspension may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
