What is happening?

(Temporary Footpath Closure)
Order 2024

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 27 metres length of Newark Close/Basingstoke Road, Peterlee to the front of no’s 10 to 16 Newark Close to enable CCTV and cleansing works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to pedestrian traffic on alternative footpaths around Newark Close. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 29/4/2024 and are anticipated to be completed in 1 day. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
