M60, M62 & M66 Motorways - Prohibition Of Traffic For General Maintenance Works

THE M60, M62 & M66 MOTORWAYS (JUNCTIONS 17-19 SIMISTER ISLAND & SLIP & LINK ROADS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M60, M66 and M62 Motorways, in the City of Salford, in the County of Greater Manchester, to enable survey works, ground investigation works, and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.
The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M60, M62 and M66 Motorways:
i. the M60 anti-clockwise carriageway, from the last point where the J18 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the M66 northbound J4 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
ii. the M66 southbound carriageway, from the last point where the J4 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the M60 clockwise J18 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
iii. the M60 clockwise carriageway, from the last point where the J18 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the M62 eastbound J18 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
iv. the M62 westbound carriageway, from the last point where the J18 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the M60 anticlockwise J18 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
v. the M60 clockwise carriageway, from the last point where the J17 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the M60 clockwise J17 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
vi. the M60 anti-clockwise carriageway, from the last point where the J17 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the J17 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
vii. the M66 northbound carriageway, from the last point where the J3 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the J3 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
viii. the M66 southbound carriageway, from the last point where the J3 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the J3 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
ix. the M60 clockwise exit and entry slip roads at J17;
x. the M60 anti-clockwise exit and entry slip roads at J17;
xi. the M60 clockwise exit slip road at J18;
xii. the M60 anti-clockwise exit and entry slip roads at J18;
xiii. the M60 anti-clockwise free flow link road at J18;
xiv. the M60 clockwise exit slip road at J19;
xv. the M60 anti-clockwise entry slip road a J19;
xvi. the M66 northbound and southbound exit and entry slip roads at J3;
xvii. the M62 eastbound entry slip road at J18;
xviii. the M62 westbound exit slip road at J18;
xix. the M66 southbound exit slip road at J4;
xx. the M60 clockwise to M66 northbound designated free flow link road;
xxi. the M66 southbound to M62 eastbound designated free flow link road;
xxii. the M62 westbound to M60 clockwise designated link road at the M60/M62 J18;
xxiii. the M60 clockwise to M66 northbound designated link road;
xxiv. the M60 anticlockwise designated free flow link road at J19;
xxv. all that carriageway comprising the M60/M62 J18 Roundabout (Simister Island):
The works are expected to take place overnight between 20:00 and 06:00 during a period starting on Tuesday 7 May 2024 and ending on Wednesday 7 May 2025. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M60, M66 and M62 Motorways will be well signed.
The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, traffic officer or winter maintenance vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs.
