A2 TRUNK ROAD (BRENLEY TO WINCHEAP)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to:-
1. authorise the overnight closure of both carriageways of the A2 between Brenley Corner (M2 Junction 7/A299) and Wincheap Interchange (A28), and all slip roads or side roads leading to or from this length of carriageway.
2. authorise the 24-hour closure of all lay-bys located adjacent to the length of carriageway described in 1. above.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier replacement, carriageway works and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 6 months starting on or after Monday 13th May 2024.
The overnight closures would take place between 20:00 and 06:00 hours (maximum period). Please check National Highways website for further details.
The Order would come into force on 11th May 2024 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A299 and the A256.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
