Kensington High Street - Temporary Road Closures For Crane Works

What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES KENSINGTON HIGH STREET (Eastbound Closure)

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has made an Order under The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Schedule 1 - Section 14 (1) (A) and all other enabling powers prohibiting vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below. Where necessary to maintain access for residents and occupiers one way or two way traffic working may be imposed on affected roads.

ROAD CLOSED TO VEHICLES FOR CRANE WORKS.

Kensington High Street to be closed eastbound from the junction of Phillimore Gardens to opposite the junction of Allen Street.

From 08.00hrs until 18.00hrs on Sunday the 14th April 2024, with a backup date of Sunday 21st April 2024.

Diverted eastbound through traffic may use Warwick Gardens, Pembroke Road, Earl’s Court Road, Cromwell Road, Queen’s Gate, Kensington Road, and Kensington High Street.

Prohibited Right hand turns will also be implemented on the following roads at the junction of Kensington High Street.

- Earl’s Court Road
- Abingdon Road

Prohibited Left hand turn will also be implemented on the following road at the junction of Kensington High Street.

- Phillimore Gardens

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency.
