Green Lane West - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A6 GARSTANG BYPASS ROAD, B5272 COCKERHAM ROAD, CROSTON ROAD, CROSTON BARN LANE ,GREEN LANE WEST, GARSTANG, WYRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the borough of Wyre;
i. A6 Garstang Bypass Road, Garstang from its junction with Green Lane West for a distance of 112 metres in a northerly direction.
ii. A6 Garstang Bypass Road, Garstang from its junction with Croston Road for a distance of 107 metres in a southerly direction.
iii. B5272 Cockerham Road, Garstang from its junction with A6 Garstang Bypass Road for 58 metres in a westerly direction
iv. Croston Road, Garstang from its junction with A6 Garstang Bypass Road for a distance of 65 metres in a easterly direction.
v. Croston Barn Lane, Garstang from its junction with A6 Garstang Bypass Road for a distance of 46 metres in a south westerly direction.
vi. Green Lane West, Garstang from its junction with A6 Garstang Bypass Road to its junction with Green Road.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 2000 hours to 0600 on Sunday 21st April 2024 until Saturday 27th April 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be locally signed at specific points around the local area to pick up affected traffic.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow resurfacing works to be carried out.
