(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024
The Council Proposes to make and Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 244-metre length of High Street and an 80-metre length of Bridge Street, Howden-le-Wear from junction with Parkside at northern side of closure in a southerly direction to the front of no. 8 Bridge Street at the east side of closure and 12 metres east of the junction with Railway Street at the west side of the closure to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken.
The alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from north side of closure in a northerly direction on A689 then west on A689 then southeast on A68/Unc 33.12/C18a to western end of closure in an easterly direction on A689 then west on B6282 then north on A68 then east on A689 then south on A689 to northern end of closure and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence between 7am to 7pm on 8.4.24 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on the site accordingly.
