What is happening?
Notice of Making
NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, have, under its relevant powers, made the following Order: U72214, Common Hill, Fownhope, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the U72214, Common Hill, Fownhope, approximately 150 metres eastwards of the junction with Church Croft. Grid Ref: 358332/234441. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via Common Hill onto Hawkers Lane, onto the B4224, onto Common Hill and vice versa.
The said closure is required due to water main installation works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 17th of April 2024 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 3 days.
