North Yorkshire - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, A1 (M) Motorway Junction 46 to 48, to allow for maintenance work.

THE A1(M) MOTORWAY
(JUNCTION 46 TO JUNCTION 48)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable structure repairs, painting and general maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 29 April 2024 for 6 weeks, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the A1(M):
(i) northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 46 to the entry slip road at
Junction 48, a distance of 16900 metres;
(ii) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 48 to the entry slip road at
Junction 46, a distance of 16900 metres;
(iii) northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at Junction 46;
(iv) northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 47; and
(v) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 48.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 28 April 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
