Kirkby In Ashfield - Prohibition Of Driving For Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RESURFACING WORKS, MANSFIELD TOWN, SUTTON IN ASHFIELD & KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (M24-040)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Mansfield Town, Sutton in Ashfield and Kirkby in Ashfield in the District of Mansfield & Ashfield.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road: -

a. A611 Derby Road - from its junction with A60 Nottingham Road to its junction with B6139 Coxmoor Road.

b. A60 Nottingham Road - from its junction with A617 Fountaindale Way West to its junction with Robin Down Lane.

c. Cauldwell Road - from its junction with A611 Derby Road to its junction with A60 Nottingham Road.

d. Old Newark Road - from its junction A60 Nottingham Road to its junction with Lichfield Lane.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both sides, 20:00-06:00) in the following length of road: -

a. A611 Derby Road - from its junction with A60 Nottingham Road to its junction with B6139 Coxmoor Road.

b. A60 Nottingham Road - from its junction with A617 Fountaindale Way West to its junction with Robin Down Lane.

c. Cauldwell Road - from its junction with A611 Derby Road to its junction with A60 Nottingham Road.

d. Old Newark Road - from its junction A60 Nottingham Road to its junction with Lichfield Lane.

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 20:00 hours on Monday 8th April 2024 Until 06:00 hours on Monday 22nd April 2024

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

A611 Derby Road (For Newark) - B6139 Coxmoor Road - Hamilton Road - Sherwood Way south or vice versa

A611 Derby Road (For Mansfield) - B6139 Coxmoor Road - Hamilton Road - Hamilton Way - Sheep bridge Lane - High Oakham Hill - Atkin Lane - A60 Nottingham Road and vice versa

A60 Nottingham Road - A617 Sherwood Way South - Hamilton Road - Hamilton Way - Sheep bridge Lane - High Oakham Hill - Atkin Lane - A60 Nottingham Road and vice versa

Old Newark Road (North) - Lichfield Lane - Berry Hill Lane - A60 Nottingham Road South and vice versa

Old Newark Road (South) - Lichfield Lane - Berry Hill Lane - Lindhurst Lane - Adams Way - A617 Sherwood Way South and vice versa

The Order will come into force on Monday 8th April 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out resurfacing works;
