What is happening?

The Street (C41) West Horsley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 3 April 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of The Street (C41) West Horsley which extends from its junction with East Lane (C41) to the southwestern property boundary line of “The Old Cottage, 199 The Street”. “The Street (C41) West Horsley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” shall be suspended in its entirety. Alternative Route – East Lane (C41), Ockham Road South (B2039), Epsom Road (A246) and The Street (C41) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure and suspension will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians, and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Fisher Lane (D161) Chiddingfold Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 3 April 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Fisher Lane (D161) Chiddingfold which extends from entrance to “Downlands Farm” to the western property boundary line of “6 Fisher Lane” and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Waverley (No.8) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route – Fisher Lane (D161), Pickhurst Road (D160), High Street Green (C34), Chiddingfold Road (C34) and Plaistow Road (C33) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 9 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
D4008 Cranley Road and D4008 Hillier Road, Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 03 April 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of:- 1) D4008 Cranley Road, Guildford that extends from the eastern side of its junction with D4008 Aldersey Road to the property boundary of “No.29 Cranley Road” and “No.31 Cranley Road”, a distance of approximately 165m. 2) D4008 Hillier Road, Guildford that extends from its junction with D4008 Cranley Road to the property boundary of “No.18 Hillier Road” and “No.20 Hillier Road”, a distance of approximately 70m. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out highway improvements and/or resurfacing and/or maintenance works, to include installation of a zebra crossing on a road table, footway widening and bus-stop relocation. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 4 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained via the alternative routes described below:- 1) Cranley Road, Pit Farm Road, Epsom Road and Aldersey Road. Closure 2) Cranley Road, Pit Farm Road, Epsom Road and Hillier Road. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Feltham Hill Road (D6205), Southfields Avenue (D3270), and Park Road (D3263) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024
On 3 April 2024 Surrey County Council Made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Feltham Hill Road (D6205) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D3270) Chessholme Road to its junction with (D3270) Redleaves Avenue; (b) Southfields Avenue Ashford as extends from its junction with Feltham Hill Road (D6205) Ashford and for a distance of 25 metres along Southfields Avenue; and (c) Park Road (D3263) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D6205) Feltham Hill Road and for a distance of 25 metres along (D3263) Park Road; (d) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Feltham Hill Road (D6205) and Southfields Avenue Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety. Alternative Route: (1) Feltham Hill Road, (B378) School Road, (A308) Staines Road West, Chertsey Road, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse; (2) Southfields Avenue, Redleaves Avenue, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse; (3) Park Road, New Park Road, Poplar Road, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate pedestrian safety improvement works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the lengths of roads described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 18-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 05 April 2024 and continues in force the provisions introduced by “The Surrey County Council Feltham Hill Road (D6205), Southfields Avenue (D3270), and Park Road (D3263) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2024” issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 01 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Various Roads in Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate resurfacing of carriageway and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises, including emergency service vehicle access, within the length of roads specified or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Alternative Route – B3206 Shawfield Road, A323 Aldershot Road, A323 Ash Street, A323 Ash Church Street, D616 Longfield Road and D616 Longacre; 4. that length of B3000 Puttenham Hill/Slips/C20 The Street, Puttenham which extends from 5. entire length of D2418 Upper Court Road, Epsom. Alternative Route – D2216 Horton Hill, C195 Lower Court Road and D2280 Manor Green Road; 6. that length of C133 Banstead Road, Ewell which extends from its junction with Cheam Road southwards to the border between Surrey County Council and London Borough of Sutton. Alternative Route – C133 Banstead Road, A232 Cheam Road, A232 Cheam Road, A232 Ewell Road, A217 Belmont Rise, A217 Brighton Road, A2022 Fir Tree Road, and C133 Banstead Road; 7. that length of B284 Old Malden Lane, Worcester Park which extends from Cromwell Road south-westwards to the border between Surrey County Council and Royal Borough of Kingston. Alternative Route – B284 Church Road, A2043 Malden Road, A3 Malden Way, A3 Malden Way Kingston Bypass, A240 Kingston Road and B284 Worcester Park Road; 8. that length of D2170 Gadesden Road, Ewell which extends from its junction with Scotts Farm Road to its junction with Vernon Close. Alternative Route – D2374 Scotts Farm Road and D2170 Gadesden Road.
Vicarage Gate (D4017) Guildford Footpath Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from entering or proceed in the entire length of footpath known as Vicarage Gate (D4017) Guildford. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway reconstruction works, which is anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 6 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 25 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. No sole means of pedestrian access to premises will be affected. Alternative Route – D4017 Vicarage Gate, D4017 Litchfield Way, D4017 Litchfield Way Footpath and D4018 Curling Vale.
High Street (D5438) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of High Street (D5438) Godalming which extends from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Station Road. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 3 days, between 7pm and 6am, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Alternative Route – Station Road – Mint Street – Church Street – High St – Moss Ln – Bridge St – The Burys – Flambard Way. To facilitate this closure, Church Street will be reverted to two-way and the rest of the High Street will also be reverted to two-way (which will suspend the one-way system on these road) between Church Street and Moss Lane.
