Essex County Council
(Bridleway 18, Chelmsford Garden) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Bridleway 18, Chelmsford Garden in the City of Chelmsford, from Essex Regiment Way, east approximately 450 metres to Fairway Drive.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 08 April 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new edging and surface treatment works are undertaken.
The alternative route will be via Back Lane/Essex Regiment Way, Armistice Avenue, Linear Park, North/South Greenway, Foot/cycle connections with Channels Phase 1-2 (Bellway development) and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 08 April 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Footpath 33, Chelmsford Garden) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close footpath 33, Chelmsford Garden in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with footpath 21, west for approximately 109 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 08 April 2024 to 04 October 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while archaeological excavations are undertaken.
The alternative route will be via a marked route provided, footpath 21, west across field boundary, north along field boundary and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 08 April 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Arbour Lane, Chelmsford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Arbour Lane, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Lionfield Terrace for a distance of approximately 5m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th April 2024 for 10 days, or where stated on a valid permit (VQ016MU-CRO-3959-001 – Esp Electricity Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Esp Electricity Limited.
An alternative route is available via Arbour Lane, Church Lane, Stump Lane, Springfield Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Cheviot Drive, Chelmsford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cheviot Drive, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 80m south of its junction with Wicklow Avenue for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF0JRG5H – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Cheviot Drive, Wicklow Avenue, Pennine Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Road, Fobbing in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 85m south west then south east of its junction with Five Bells Roundabout South for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (KL733TLL-30-36-280424 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while level crossing repair works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

The Order will come into effect on 11th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Leighs Road, Great Leighs)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Leighs Road, Great Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 250m south west of its junction with Daisleys Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th April 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30059587498 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Wheelers Hill, Drakes Lane, Boreham Road and vice versa (with access only into Leighs Road).
The Order will come into effect on 11th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Penny Royal Road/Mayes Lane/Copt Hill, Danbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Penny Royal Road/Mayes Lane, Danbury in the City of Chelmsford, from both of the junctions with Bicknacre Road for a distance of approximately 560m in a north easterly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Copt Hill, Danbury in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Penny Royal Road for distance of approximately 35m in an easterly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 30th April 2024 for 35 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30037453361 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while cable replacement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Woodhill Road, Well Lane, Main Road and vice versa (with access only into Copt Hill, Mayes Lane and Penny Royal Road).

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Road, Good Easter in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 30m south west of its junction with Mill Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th April 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013307617 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Valley Bridge, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Petersfield to its junction with Springfield Hall Roundabout a distance of approximately 250m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th May 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH10004042 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge expansion joints replacement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Blackley Lane, Little Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th April 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF2KRG8Y01 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Blackmore Road, Highwood in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Ingatestone Road for a distance of approximately 430m in a south westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Ingatestone Road, Highwood in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 440m south west then south east of its junction with Blackmore Road for a distance of approximately 200m in a south easterly direction.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Madles Lane, Stock in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Whites Hill to its junction with Marigold Lane a distance of approximately 410m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th April 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30064257319 – UK Power Networks). Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction in that length of Margaretting Road, Writtle & Writtle Road, Margaretting in the City of Chelmsford from its junction Greenbury Way to its junction with Wantz Road a distance of approximately 4100m as cited “The Borough of Chelmsford (Galleywood, Margaretting, Stock and Writtle Areas) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 1986”
3. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
