Active Travel Essex - Braintree (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.25) Order 2024 (Station Approach (Loop Section) Braintree) (One-Way) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Orders under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1),45, 46, 49, 53, and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended):
Effect of the Order:
1. Torevoke: 'No Waiting at Any Time' restrictions
Road - Description
Station Approach Northern Side of Traffic Island - From a point approximately 2 metres south of the north-western corner of the traffic island, north, then east, then south around the northern edge of the traffic island for approximately 19.1 metres.
Station Approach - NORTH SIDE: (i) From a point approximately 71 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 13 metres. (ii) From a point approximately 51 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, east for approximately 49 metres. SOUTH SIDE: (iii) From a point approximately 37 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 20 metres.
2. To Implement: 'No Waiting at Any Time' restrictions
Road - Description
Station Approach All sides of Traffic Island - All sides of the Traffic Island (excluding the bus stop to the north) for approximately 27 metres.
Station Approach - NORTH SIDE: (i) From the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 54 metres. (ii) From a point approximately 73 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 10 metres. SOUTH SIDE: (i) From a point approximately 37 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, west for approximately 36 metres, into the Bus Stop area. (ii) From a point approximately 90 metres west of the centre line of its junction with the Timber Yard, east for approximately 23 metres, into the Bus Stop area.
3. To relocate: 'Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 6am-7pm 20 mins No Return Within 40 mins' restriction
Road - Remove From - New location
Station Approach North Side - From a point approximately51 metres west of the centre line of the junction with Timber Yard, west for approximately 20 metres. - From a point approximately 54 metres west of the centre line of the junction with Timber Yard, west for approximately 19 metres.
4. To revoke: 'No Stopping 7am-7pm Except Buses' Restriction.
Road - Description
Station Approach Bus Stop Area - From a point approximately 9 metres south of the western kerb line of Station Approach, southwards then east for approximately 39 metres.
5. To Implement: 'No Stopping at Any Time Except Buses' Restriction.
Road - Description
Station Approach northern side of Traffic Island - From a point approximately 1.5 metres east of the traffic islands western kerb line, east for approximately 13 metres.
Station Approach Bus Stop Area - From a point approximately 1.5 metres east of the north-western kerb line of Station Approach, east for approximately 12 metres.
This Order will be incorporated into 'The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019' by substituting map tiles: TL760 225 Revision 0 to Revision 1, TL760 227 Revision 1 to Revision 2.
6. To Implement: ''One-Way' Restriction.
Road - Permitted direction of travel
Station Approach 'Loop' section (between railway station and car park) - Westbound.
The Orders will come into operation on 05 April 2024.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.35) Order 202*
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

(Bakers Lane, Black Notley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bakers Lane, Black Notley in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 145m south west of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 385m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th April 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF0FC58L - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Bakers Lane, Buck Hill, Notley Road, St Michaels Road, High Street, London Road, Bakers Lane and vice versa. The Order will come into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Braintree Road, Shalford/ Panfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Braintree Road, Shalford/Panfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 580m south east of the junction with Water Lane for a distance of approximately 1285m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd April 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WDKFHG7K & BC008WDKFHG7K01 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Braintree Road, Panfield Road, Deanery Hill, Church Lane, Broad Road, Convent Hill, Broad Road, Broad Road Roundabout, High Garrett, Gosfield Road, Braintree Road, The Street, Church Road, Hedingham Road, Braintree Road, Queen Street, Potter Street, Swan Street, Yeldham Road, Crouch Green, Yeldham Road, Hedingham Road, Poole Street, High Street, Church Road, Ridgewell Road, Mill Road, Chapel Road, The Causeway, Four Ash Hill, Ridgewell Road, Baythorne End, Sturmer Road, Boreham Place, New England Road, Blois Road, Fell Road, Broad Green, Blois Road, Chapel Street, Haverhill Road, Finchingfield Road, Cornish Hall End, Little London Hill, Howe Street, Duck End, The Causeway, Church Hill, Wethersfield Road, Finchingfield Road, Meadside, Silver Street, Braintree Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Road, Cressing) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Cressing in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Polecat Road to its junction with Temple Lane a distance of approximately 1630m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd April 2024 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2351668 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Temple Lane, Witham Road, Polecat Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Panfield Lane, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Panfield Lane, Braintree in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Bunyan Road to its junction with Rayne Road a distance of approximately 165m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd April 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (N7103DIS150334-9 - Virgin Media). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Virgin Media.
An alternative route is available via Panfield Lane, Aetheric Road, Rayne Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Brent Hall Road, Finchingfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brent Hall Road, Finchingfield in the District of Braintree from its junction with The Chase for a distance of approximately 70m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th April 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30078432537 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while substation removal works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via High Street, Moor End Road, Anso Road, High Street, Bumpstead Road, Hempsted Road, Water Lane, Church Street, Finchingfield Road, Cornish Hall End, Little London Hill, Howe Street, Duck End, The Causeway, Bridge Street and vice versa (with access only into Brent Hall Road, Sampford Road, Hawkins Hill and Finchingfield Road).
The Order came into effect on 21st March 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
