Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

A2033 Foord Road, Folkestone, CT19 5AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A2033 Foord Road, Folkestone, on or after 23rd April 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Devon Road and the railway bridge, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A2033 Foord Road, A2033 New Street, A2033 Bradstone Road, A2033 Dover Road, A2033 Grace Hill, A2033 Shellons Street, A2033 Middelburg Square, A2034 Cheriton Gardens, A2034 Shorncliffe Road, A259 Castle Hill Avenue, A259 Cheriton Road, A259 Radnor Park Road, A259 Pavilion Road and A259 Black Bull Road.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A259 Radnor Park Road, A259 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cheriton Road, A2033 Middelburg Square, Foresters Way, A2033 Grace Hill and A2033 Foord Road.

 

B2063 Risborough Lane, Folkestone, CT20 3LW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic in 2 phases on part of B2063 Risborough Lane, Folkestone, on or after 8th April 2024 for up to 32 days or until the works have been completed.

Phase 1 - B2063 Risborough Lane will be closed between the junctions of Cherrybrook Road and Heritage Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 2 - B2063 Risborough Lane will be closed between the junctions of Heritage Road and Risborough Way. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2063 Risborough Lane, B2063 Military Road, A259 Sandgate High Street, A259 Sandgate Hill, A259 Sandgate Road, A259 Earls Avenue, A259 Shorncliffe Road, A259 Castle Hill Avenue, A259 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cheriton Road, B2064 Cheriton Road, B2064 Cheriton High Street and vice versa.

 

Canterbury Road, Folkestone, CT19 5PJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Folkestone, on or after 8th April 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with A259 Canterbury Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A259 Canterbury Road, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, A260 Hill Road, A260 Dover Road, Canterbury Road and vice versa.

 

Church Road, Lyminge, CT18 8HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, Lyminge, on or after 8th April 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Kimberley Terrace. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, Station Road, Mayfield Road, Well Road, Church Road and vice versa.

 

Foresters Way, Folkestone, CT20 1EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foresters Way, Folkestone, on or after 22nd April 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the bus lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

 

Harringe Lane, Court-at-street, CT21 4PQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harringe Lane, Court-at-street, on or after 10th April 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of A20 Main Road and B2067 Aldington Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Harringe Lane, A20 Main Road, A20 Barrow Hill, A20 Ashford Road, B2067 Otterpool Lane, B2067 Aldington Road and vice versa.

 

Highridge, Hythe, CT21 5TA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Highridge, Hythe, on or after 22nd April 2024 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 4, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Highridge, Spring Lane, Horn Street, Naildown Road and vice versa.

 

Stade Street, Hythe, CT21 6FR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stade Street, Hythe, on or after 11th April 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Windmill Street, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stade Street, Portland Road, St Leonards Road, West Parade and vice versa.

 

The Parade & Coast Drive, Greatstone, TN28 8RP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic in 2 phases, on part of The Parade & Coast Drive, Greatstone, on or after 8th April 2024 for up to 110 days or until the works have been completed.

Phase 1 - The Parade will be closed from number 172 to Coast Drive, from 8th April 2024, with estimated completion by 26th July 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 2 - Coast Drive will be closed from number 173 to The Parade, from 17th June 2024, with estimated completion by 26th July 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Parade, Coast Drive, Grand Parade, B2071 Littlestone Road, B2071 Station Road, A259 High Street, A259 Lydd Road, B2075 Romney Road, B2075 Station Road, Harden Road, Dungeness Road, Battery Road and vice versa.

 

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT 7)

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The Order proposes to install disabled persons parking places in the following streets:

Folkestone:

In the vicinity of: 13 Marshall Street; 58 Garden Road; 11 Penfold Road; 63 Wear Bay Crescent; 22 Foord Road South; 29 Grimston Gardens; 33 Geraldine Road; 46 Langdon Road; Rear of 7 Linksway; Rear of 5 Linksway; 73 Church Road; 22 Denmark Street; 38 Dallas Brett Crescent; 18 Brabner Close; 14 Chart Road;

Hythe:

In the vicinity of: 105 Royal Military Avenue; 1 Almshouses, Rectory Lane; 43 Princes Terrace, Dymchurch Road;

Sandgate: In the vicinity of: 4 Castle Bay;

Brenzett: In the vicinity of 6 The Haven, Rhee Wall;

New Romney: In the vicinity of 26 Langport Road;

The Order proposes to revoke the following disabled persons parking places in Folkestone:

In the vicinity of: 31 Bradstone Avenue, 15 Ethelbert Road, 10 Morrison Road

A copy of the proposed Order, a copy of any Orders which may be amended by it, and a statement of the council’s reasons for proposing it can be inspected during normal office hours at the Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, CT20 2QY or at https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/parking
