What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

A28 High Street & A28 Hastings Road, Rolvenden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of the A28 High Street & A28 Hastings Road, Rolvenden, on or after 12th April 2024, with estimated completion by 8th May 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 05.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from near Rolvenden Primary School to ‘Oak View’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A28 High Street, B2086 Regent Street, Benenden Road, Rolvenden Road (Benenden Road), The Street, Cranbrook Road, Benenden Road, Swattenden Lane, A229 Hartley Road, Hawkhurst Road, Gills Green (Cranbrook Road), Cranbrook Road, A268 Rye Road, Megrims Hill, Queen Street (Sharps Hill), Rye Road, Hastings Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bethersden Road, Woodchurch, TN26 3QY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bethersden Road, Woodchurch, on or after 25th April 2024, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bourne Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Bethersden Road, Plurenden Road, Redbrook Street, Bethersden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bramble Lane, Wye, TN25 5HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bramble Lane, Wye, on or after 23rd April 2024, for up to 9 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 2a Bramble Villas, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Harville Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Bramble Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bridge Street, Wye, TN25 5EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bridge Street, Wye, from 07.00 hours on 14th April 2024, with estimated completion by 02.00 hours on 15th April 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic:-

East Bound is via Bramble Lane, A28 Canterbury Road, A2070 Willesborough Road, Kennington Road, The Street, Hinxhill Road, Hinxhill Road From Junction With Goodcheap Lane To Nackolt Road, Naccolt Road, Oxenturn Road and Bridge Street.

West Bound is via Churchfield Way, High Street, Upper Bridge Street, Oxenturn Road, Naccolt Road, Nackolt Road, Hinxhill Road From Junction with Goodcheap Lane to Nackolt Road, Hinxhill Road, The Street, A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough Road, A28 Canterbury Road and Bramble Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Calleywell Lane, Aldington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Calleywell Lane, Aldington, on or after 10th April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Willow Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Goldwell Lane, Roman Road, Calleywell Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Canterbury Road, Brabourne.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Brabourne, on or after 9 April 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Manor Pound Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Canterbury Road, Plain Road, Stone Hill, Southenay Lane, A20 Main Road, Swan Lane, Blind House Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Horton Downs, Whiteways, Curteis Lane, Scots Lane, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chapmans Close, Challock, TN25 4AY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chapmans Close, Challock, on or after 22nd April 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 18, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Hill, Charing, ME17 2BZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Hill, Charing, on or after 8 April 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Heath Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Hill, Egerton Road, Tile Lodge Road, Charing Heath Road, Maidstone Road, Ashford Road, Forstal Road, Lenham Forstal Road, Lenham Heath Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hamstreet Road, Ruckinge, TN26 2NR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hamstreet Road, Ruckinge, on or after 23rd April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Canal Farm Bungalow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on  site.

The alternative route is via Hamstreet Road, Ruckinge Road, Cock Lane, The Street, Ashford Road, Ashford Road Junction With Bypass Link Road To Hamstreet, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, Hamstreet Bypass, Hythe Road Roundabout, A2070 J A2042 Roundabout, Bad Munstereifel Slip East Bound On, A2070 From J A2042 To M20 J10 Roundabout N, Bad Munstereifel Road, Barrey Road, A2070 From A2070 Sevington Roundabout To M20 J10a Roundabout E, Link Road Between Junction 10a M20 To A2070, A20 A2070 M20 J10a Roundabout, Hythe Road, Main Road, Barrow Hill, Otterpool Lane, Aldington Road, Roman Road, Knoll Hill, Bonnington Road, Bilsington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lower Ensden Road, Chilham, CT4 8BA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Ensden Road, Chilham, on or after 23rd April 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lower Ensden Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lower Lees Road, Selling Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Magpie Hall Road, Kingsnorth.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Magpie Hall Road, Kingsnorth, on or after 26th April 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Ashford Road, Hamstreet Road, Hornash Lane, Tally Ho Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

North Street, Ashford, TN24 8TE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING  & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of North Street, Ashford, on or after 22nd April 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Itaca’s, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The One-Way Order on Park Street will be suspended for the duration of the works, from the junction with North Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via High Street, Station Road, Elwick Road, Church Road, Vicarage Lane, Station Road, Wellesley Road, Park Street, North Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Old Surrenden Manor Road, Bethersden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Old Surrenden Manor Road, Bethersden, on or after 10 April 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Mannering Green Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Old Surrenden Manor Road, A28 Ashford Road, Forge Hill, Mill Road, Old Surrenden Manor Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Redbrook Street, Woodchurch.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Redbrook Street, Woodchurch on or after 8 April 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Plurenden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Redbrook Street, Bethersden Road, Plurenden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Selling Road, Chilham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Selling Road, Chilham, on or after 8th April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 3 Upper Ensign Farm Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Selling Road, Lower Ensden Road, Lower Lees Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sparrow Hatch Lane, Ashford.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sparrow Hatch Lane, Ashford, on or after 28th April 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 06.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the rail bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Sparrow Hatch Lane, Bethersden Road, Pluckley Road, Dowle Street Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Susans Hill, Woodchurch, TN26 3RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Susans Hill, Woodchurch, on or after 22nd April 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of “Ruxley”, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Susans Hill, Haycross Lane, B2067 Brook Street, Front Road  and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Tally Ho Road, Kingsnorth, TN26 1HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tally Ho Road, Kingsnorth, on or after 22nd April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 41, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Chilmington Green Road, Ashford Road, Woodchurch Road, Bethersden Road, Plurenden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Tufton Street, Ashford, TN24 8TE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tufton Street, Ashford, on or after 8th April 2024, for up to 15 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 23, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The One-Way Orders on Tufton Street & Bank Street will be suspended for the duration of the works.

The alternative route is via Elwick Road, Church Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Warren Street Road, Charing.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Warren Street Road, Charing, on or after 10 April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 1 Bankwood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Hart Hill, A20 Maidstone Road, Ashford Road, Rayners Hill, Waterditch Lane, Warren Street Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Wittersham Road, Stone.​ (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Wittersham Road, Stone, on or after 10 April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction will be imposed between Quarry Cottages and Halmans Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Worten Road, Great Chart, TN23 3BS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Worten Road, Great Chart, on or after 24th April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of North Barn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Godinton Lane, Water Fall Road, Park Drive, The Street, Bethersden Road, Bears Lane, Etchden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Wye Road, Boughton Aluph, TN25 4HY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wye Road, Boughton Aluph, on or after 8th April 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

There will also be collaborative working with SGN to allow reinstatement works to take place.

The road will be closed between Worgers Cottage & Mulberry House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Wye Road, A251 Faversham Road, The Green, Ulley Road, The Street, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
