What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
FERNLEA AVENUE, RAINHALL ROAD, ESSEX STREET, BARNOLDSWICK, PENDLE BOROUGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Fernlea Avenue, Essex Street, Rainhall Road, Barnoldswick, Pendle Borough
i. Fernlea Avenue, Barnoldswick its junction with Essex Street for a distance of 50 metres in a northerly direction.
ii. Rainhall Road, Barnoldswick its junction with Mosley Street for a distance of 70 metres in a westerly direction.
iii. Essex Street, Barnoldswick its junction with Fernlea Avenue for a distance of 35 metres in a southerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 2000 hours until 0500 hours on Sunday 7th April 2024 until Wednesday 17th April 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
From Fernlea Avenue, Barnoldswick
Skipton Road, Barnoldswick – Church Road, Thornton in -Craven – Skipton Road, Earby – Colne Road, Earby – Colne Road, Sough – Colne Road, Kelbrook – Kelbrook Road, Kelbrook – Kelbrook Road, Salterforth – Kelbrook Road, Barnoldswick – Essex Street and vice versa
From Rainhall Road, Barnoldswick
Valley Road – Wellhouse Road – Skipton Road – Fernlea Avenue and vice versa
From Essex Street, Barnoldswick
Kelbrook Road, Barnoldswick – Kelbrook Road, Salterforth – Kelbrook Road, Kelbrook – Colne Road, Kelbrook – Colne Road, Sough – Colne Road, Earby – Skipton Road, Earby – Church Road, Thornton in-Craven – Skipton Road, Barnoldswick and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow resurfacing works to be carried out.
