ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (Footpath Buxted 24, Buxted) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2012
To protect public safety, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 21 September 2012 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Public Footpath Buxted 24 will be closed between the junction of Buxted Footpath 23 for 1100 metres to its junction with Chillies Lane. The footpath will be closed to all users. An alternative route is available via Chillies Lane, Footpath Buxted 29, Perryman’s Lane and Footpath Buxted 23b.
The closure will be in force for 12 months from 30 March 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (Public Footpath Lewes 4b (part)) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023
To protect public safety during the creation of a wetland, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 24 March 2023 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Lewes 4b will be closed to all users between TQ 4114 0927 and TQ 4046 0893. An alternative route will be available north of Cockshut Stream via the grounds of the Lewes Priory Cricket club ground and Lewes Rugby club grounds as shown on the attached map and as signed on the ground.
The closure will be in force for 3 months from 1 April 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (Public Footpath Ringmer 15b (part), Ringmer 16a, Ringmer 18a (part)) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024
To protect public safety during a housing development, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Ringmer 15b will be closed to all users between TQ 4503 1288 and TQ 4505 1293 for a distance of 50 metres. An alternative route will be available roughly parallel to the west.
The whole of Public Footpath Ringmer 16a will be closed to all users between TQ 4503 1288 and TQ 4511 1292. An alternative route will be available to the north between Ringmer 15b and where Ringmer 16a meets Ringmer 16b, 18a and 18b. Part of Public Footpath Ringmer 18a will be closed to all users between TQ 4511 1292 and TQ 4523 1280 for a distance of 200 metres. An alternative route will be available roughly parallel to the north, around the site compound.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 1 April 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (C7 Newhaven Road, Rodmell/Northease/Iford/Swanborough/ Kingston) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:-
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Newhaven Road – from the junction with U5051 The Street to the junction with C324 Wellgreen Lane. The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 8 April 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7716 The Drive, Hailsham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
The Drive – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (U7921 Dads Hill, Heathfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Dads Hill – from the junction with B2102 High Street to the junction with A267 Mayfield Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Mayfield Road – B2102 High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 April 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
The Street – from the junction with P8003 Clapham Lane to The Highwoods.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C120 The Street, Lullington Road – C39 North Street, High Street, Whiteway, Alfriston Road – A259 Eastbourne Road – C120 Litlington Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 4 July 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 5 April 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C277 North Road, Bodle Street Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
North Road – from the junction with C16 White Horse Road to the junction with U7604 Trumpet Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C277 North Road, Redpale, Bluekiln Road – C18 South Lane – B2096 Woods Corner, Battle Road, Carricks Hill, Earls Down – C279 Rookery Lane – C16 Back Lane, Bodle Street, White Horse Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow Cottier Contracting to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Eridge Road – from the junction with B2157 Eridge Road to the junction with A26 Eridge Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A26 Eridge Road – B2157 Eridge Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C114 Muddles Green, Burgh Hill Road – A22 Golden Cross, Holmes Hill, Whitesmith – U7676 Whitesmith Lane and vice versa.
The Order commenced 14 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 April 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Southridge Rise – from the junction with U7803 Hill Close to the junction with U7803 Harecombe Rise.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7803 Harecombe Rise, Southridge Road, Manor Way and vice versa.
The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The Order commences 4 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 4 and 6 April 2024, depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Diplocks Way
Phase 1 – from the junction with A22 Diplocks Roundabout to IMO car wash;
Phase 2 – from IMO car wash to the junction with U7221 Apex Way;
Phase 3 – from the junction with P8020 The Square to the junction with U7221 Apex Way;
Phase 4 – from the junction with P8020 The Square to the junction with A295 South Road.

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

The Order commences 12 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Eastport Lane – from the junction with U5162 Southover High Street to the junction with U5122 Garden Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5162 Southover High Street – U5122 Southover Road, Garden Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 15 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 19 April 2024, continuous closure, depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C14 Coggins Mill Lane, Mayfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Coggins Mill Lane – from the junction with C14 Fletching Street to the junction with C568 Lake Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C14 Fletching Street – Tunbridge Wells Road – A267 Argos Hill – Tunbridge Wells Road – C568 Lake Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 16 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 18 April 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
