What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES)
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of
the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
as amended have made an Order the effect of which is:
1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified
in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and
2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the
existing one way traffic working in a south easterly direction in
Whitson Street which extends from Marlborough Street to Earl
Street so as to allow access and egress for works vehicles.
The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to
be executed on or near the roads and becomes operative from 8th
April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the
restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but
only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take
place between the times and dates specified in Schedule 2 to this
Notice).

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is:
1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified
in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
2. to prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in the road
specified in column 1 of Schedule 2 to this Notice, from making
a left turn into the road specified in column 2 of the said Schedule;
and
3. to prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in a road specified
in column 1 of Schedule 3 to this Notice, from making a right turn
into the road specified in relation to that road in column 2 of the
said Schedule.
Exemption will be provided in the Order for vehicles requiring
necessary access to premises situated on, adjacent to or accessible
only from the closed lengths of roads, where possible.
The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to
be executed on or near the roads and becomes operative from 3rd
April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the
restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but
only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take
place between 3rd April 2024 to 29th May 2024 – please see
Schedule 4 below for more details).

ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to
close, temporarily, to pedestrians that length of Public Right of Way 5
which extends from Public Right of Way 18 south eastwards for
296 metres.
The Order was required because works are being or are proposed to
be executed on or near the public right of way and becomes operative
from 8th April 2024 for a maximum period of six months. However,
the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but
only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take
place between 8th April 2024 and 8th October 2024).
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A temporary signposted footpath that runs
adjacent to the closed section of Public Right of Way 5 will be
provided throughout the duration of the works.
