What is happening?

ROTHERHAM METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1) AND 14(7) PART OF WILFRED STREET ROTHERHAM TOWN CENTRE

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC AND TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY ORDER)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough has made an Order the effect of which is to:-

1.    P rohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Wilfred Street from its junction with Westgate for a distance of approximately 20m in an easterly direction from Tuesday 2nd April until Saturday 27th April 2024. NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order is via the Wilfred Street junction with Moorgate.

2.    Temporarily suspend the One Way Order relating to Wilfred Street to allow limited access to business premises located on Wilfred Street from Tuesday 2nd April until Saturday 27th April 2024.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LIDGET LANE AND

BRAMLEY LANE BRAMLEY ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the two roads specified in the Schedule to this notice for a periods of time between Monday 8th. April and Tuesday 1st. October 2024 between 8am and 4pm.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative routes will be via B6093 Moor Lane South, Braithwell Road, Common Lane and vice versa.

The reason for the prohibitions is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the parts of road (Carriageway surface dressing).

SCHEDULE

(i)    Lidget Lane from its junction with B6093 Moor Lane South to its junction with Bramley Lane.

(ii)   Bramley Lane from its junction with Lidget Lane to its junction with Common Lane.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

PART OF COMMON ROAD THORPE SALVIN ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Common Road from a point approximately 450 metres south east its junction with Worksop Road to its junction with Dumb Hall Lane for periods of time between Monday 8th. April and Tuesday 1st. October 2024 between 8am and 4pm.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative routes for vehicles affected will be via Back Lane, Nether Thorpe Road and vice versa.

The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the part of road (Carriageway surface dressing).

PART OF PENNY PIECE LANE NORTH ANSTON SHEFFIELD

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Penny Piece Lane between its junction with with Penny Piece Place and its junction with Main Street for periods of time between Monday 8th. April and Tuesday 1st. October 2024 between 8am and 4pm.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the

Order will be via Cramfit Road in a westerly direction, Common Road, B6463 Todwick Road in a south westerly direction and A57 Sheffield Road in an easterly direction and vice versa.

The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Carriageway surface dressing).

PART OF ORGREAVE ROAD SERVICE ROAD CATCLIFFE ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Orgreave Road service road from its junction with Sheffield Lane to its junction with Orgreave Road for periods of time between Monday 8th. April and Tuesday 1st. October 2024 between 8am and 4pm each day.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order will be via Sheffield Lane, Orgreave Road and vice versa.

The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Carriageway surface dressing).

Notice is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council as highway authority for the Borough of Rotherham has made the above-mentioned Order on the 18th. March 2024 and which comes into effect on the 1st. April 2024. Notice of the proposal for making the Order was published in the Rotherham Advertiser on the 1st. February 2024 which is to revoke the 40mph speed limit to the part of road specified in the Schedule to this notice;

(xlix)  Sheffield Road (A6178, Templeborough, from its junction with Centenary Way, in a generally westerly direction to a point 7 metres west of the western kerb line of Ekin Street, an approximate distance of 1600 metres.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended or that a requirement of that Act or of any relevant regulations made there under has not been complied with in any way, may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

PART OF DROPPINGWELL ROAD KIMBERWORTH ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Droppingwell Road between its junction with Farm View Road and its junction with Baring Road for periods of time between Monday 8th. April and Tuesday 1st. October 2024 between 8am and 4pm each day.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the

Order will be via A629 Upper Wortley Road/Wortley Road, A6109 Wilton Gardens/

Wilton Lane, A6109 Meadow Bank Road, A631 M1 J34 north roundabout (Meadowhall Roundabout), Blackburn Road (Sheffield City Council network),  New Droppingwell Road and vice versa.

The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Carriageway surface dressing works).
