What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Byway - Bury Water Lane, Newport) (Temporary Clearway) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily enforce 'No stopping at Any Time (Clearway) on both sides of the carriageway. On Byway - Bury Water Lane, Newport in the District of Uttlesford. From Whiteditch Lane for approximately 150 metres towards Hills Drive.

This will be peak times only, between the hours of 08:00 to 09:30 and 14:30 to 16:00.

The restriction is scheduled to commence on 02 April 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The restriction is required to allow room for the buses to use during works, they will turn round at Hills Drive due to the closure of the Wicken Fenn Bridge.

The Order will come into effect on 02 April 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, Little Easton) (30mph and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2), and Parts IV and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

Effect of the order: To Extend: a '30mph Speed Limit' (Currently a 40mph Speed Limit) on the following lengths of road, Little Easton, in the District of Uttlesford.

Road - Description

Duck Street, Little Easton - From a point approximately 63 metres west of Public Footpath No.26, Little Easton (the current 30mph terminal point) eastwards for approximately 57 metres.

The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Little Easton) (30MPH & 40MPH Speed Limit) Order 2018' is hereby revoked in its entirety. The restrictions contained within that Order shall continue in force by virtue of this new Order.

(Ivy Todd Hill, Debden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ivy Todd Hill, Debden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Water Lane for a distance of approximately 45m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th April 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WF6KLD1P - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Water Lane, Elder Street, Thaxted Road, Walden Road, Newbiggen Street, The Bullring, Bolford Street, Thaxted Road, High Street, Mill Road, Ivy Todd Hill and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 470m south west of its junction with Chapel Green Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd April 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06057047/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Royston Road, Station Road, London Road, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa (with access only into Littlebury Green Road).

The Order will come into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Uttlesford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Temporary Introduction of a Clearway & Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) & (Windmill Hill, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5T Weight Restriction) (No.4) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those length of roads in the District of Uttlesford as specified in schedule 1 & 2 to this Order.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

3. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of road as specified in schedule 1 to this Order.

4. To temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction in that length of Windmill Hill, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, southerly direction along B184 Windmill Hill between its junction with Walden Road, Littlebury and its junction with Bridge Street, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford as cited in "Essex County Council (Various Roads at Audley End, Saffron Walden and Wendens Ambo) (Weight Restriction) Order 1997" for the duration of the above closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 4th April 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Sparrowsend Hill, Newport) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sparrowsend Hill, Newport in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 65m north east of its junction with Cambridge Road for a distance of approximately 140m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th April 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06053126/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

(Wenden Road, Arkesden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wenden Road, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Newland End Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30081242190 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Hampit Road, Bridge Green Road, Duddenhoe End Road, Beards Lane, Coopers End Road, Woodmans Lane, School Lane, Upper Pond Street, Lower Pond Street, Royston Road and vice versa (with access only into Arkesden Road, Wenden Road, Quicksie Hill and Church Hill).

The Order will come into effect on 4th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Wicken Road, Wicken Bonhunt) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wicken Road, Wicken Bonhunt in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 485m south west of its junction with Frambury Lane for a distance of approximately 65m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd April 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06057057/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
