Main Street, Newton - Road Closure to Carry Out Large Scale Patching Repairs
What is happening?

(TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF
DRIVING) ORDER
2024 (R24-073)
NOTICE IS HEREBY
GIVEN that the
Nottinghamshire County
Council has made an
Order, under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, in respect of
roads at Newton in the
Borough of Rushcliffe.
The effects of the
Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited
from proceeding in the
following length of road: -
a. Main Street - from
its junction with Newton
Lane to its junction with
Wellington Avenue.
2. Vehicles are prohibited
from waiting, loading and
unloading in the following
length of road: -
a. Main Street (Both
sides, 09:30-15:00) - from
its junction with Newton
Lane to its junction with
Wellington Avenue.
3. All existing permanent
restrictions will be
temporarily suspended as
required.
4. The restrictions
specified above shall
only be in effect when
the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the
prohibitions respecting
the above road or roads
will apply as follows:
From 09:30 hours
on Wednesday
3rd April 2024
Until 15:00 hours on
Tuesday 16th April 2024
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY
FURTHER GIVEN that
during the period of
restriction the alternative
route available will be:
East Bridgford Road
- A6097 Bypass
Road - Newton Lane
and vice versa.
The Order will come into
force on Wednesday
3rd April 2024 and any
prohibition in it shall
apply on that day and any
subsequent day when
necessary to enable
works to be carried
out. The Order shall
continue in force until
the works are completed
(within a maximum
period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required
to enable Via East
Midlands to carry out large
scale patching repairs;
