What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (A461 Horseley Heath, Tipton)

(Temporary Side Road Closures) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the following roads located off A461 Horseley Heath: Lewis Street from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres inasoutherly direction (anticipated date 11/04/2024). Traffic will be diverted via Tame Road, Ballfields, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Ballfields from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction (anticipated date 11/04/2024). Traffic will be diverted via Horseley Heath, Lewis Street, Tame Road and vice-versa. Scott Street (easterly entrance) from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated date 11/04/2024). Traffic will be diverted via Horseley Heath, Scott Street (westerly entrance) and vice-versa. Providence Street from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction (anticipated date 12/04/2024). Traffic will be diverted via Tame Road, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Railway Street from its junction with Horseley Heath foradistance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated date 12/04/2024). Traffic will be diverted via Horseley Heath, Horseley Road and vice-versa. Scott Street (westerly entrance) from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated date 12/04/2024). Traffic will be diverted via Scott Street, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 12/04/2024 effective from 11/04/2024. Affected side roads will be closed one at at time (8am - 6pm only). Purpose – to facilitate the construction of speed tables associated withanew cycleway by Bridge Construction for Sandwell MBC. The Borough Council of Sandwell (A34 Birmingham Road, Great Barr)

(Temporary Gap Closures and Prohibitions of Turning) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along A34 Birmingham Road as follows (7pm - 6am only): 1) Vehicles will be prohibited from turning right off A34 Birmingham Road northbound into Sundial Lane and the gap in the central reservation located opposite Sundial Lane will be closed. Traffic will be diverted via A34 Birmingham Road northbound, around M6 J7 Gyratory and back via A34 Birmingham Road southbound. 2) Vehicles will be prohibited from turning right off A34 Birmingham Road southbound into Cross Lane and the gap in the central reservation opposite Cross Lane will be closed. Traffic will be diverted via A34 Birmingham Road southbound, A34 Walsall Road southbound, U Turn opposite the turn for B4124 Old Walsall Road and back via A34 Walsall Road and A34 Birmingham Road northbound. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 09/04/2024 effective from 06/04/2024. Purpose – to facilitate tarmacing and white lining on A34 Birmingham Road by Colas Ltd for Transport for West Midlands (part of the Sprint scheme). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Providence Street, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) and (Fox Oak Street, Cradley Heath)

(Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Providence Street at the junction of Fox Oak Street. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Fox Oak Street, Newtown Lane and vice-versa. A 20mph temporary speed restriction will be implemented on Fox Oak Street between the junctions of Newtown Lane and Tibbetts Road (eastern side). The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 12/09/24 effective from 11/04/24 (24hr). Purpose–to facilitate urgent access for repairs to the TESCO retaining wall by Uplands Retail.
