TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC M62, M18
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE M62 MOTORWAY AND THE M18
MOTORWAY (LANGHAM) (TEMPORARY
RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF
TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National
Highways Limited intends to make an
Order on the M62 Motorway and the M18
Motorway, in the East Riding of Yorkshire,
to enable bridge and barrier works to be
carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm
on Monday 22 April for 4 months, or until
completed.
The effect of the Order will be to impose,
24 hours a day, at times during the works,
a temporary 50mph speed restriction,
at Langham Interchange, on the:
(i) M62 eastbound carriageway from 1000
metres west of the link road connecting
the M62 eastbound carriageway with
the M18 southbound carriageway
at Junction 35 to 150 metres east
of the link road connecting the M18
northbound carriageway with the M62
eastbound carriageway at Junction 35,
a distance of 1150 metres;
(ii) M18 westbound carriageway from
1515 metres south of the link road
connecting the M18 northbound
carriageway with the M62 eastbound
carriageway at Junction 7 to the link
road connecting the M18 northbound
carriageway with the M62 eastbound
carriageway at Junction 7, a distance
of 1515 metres;
(iii) link road connecting the M18
northbound carriageway with the M62
westbound carriageway;
(iv) link road connecting the M62
eastbound carriageway with the M18
southbound carriageway; and
(v) link road connecting the M18
northbound carriageway with the M62
eastbound carriageway.
During the restrictions the hard shoulder
will be used for traffic adjacent to the:
(vi) M62 eastbound carriageway between
the exit and entry slip roads at Junction
35, a distance of 1490 metres;
(vii) M62 westbound carriageway
between the exit and entry slip roads
at Junction 35, a distance of 1160
metres; and
(viii) link roads described above in (iv)
and (v).
It will be necessary to close, between 8pm
and 6pm, at times during the works the
link roads mentioned above in (iv) and (v).
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of
the restrictions (which will not apply to
emergency service vehicles or special
forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which
will not apply to emergency services
vehicles, traffic officer vehicles or
vehicles being used in connection with
the said works or for winter maintenance
purposes). The Order comes into force
on 21 April 2024 and has a maximum
duration of eighteen months.
