SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(Merlin Road – Eastbound and Westbound, Almondsbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of the eastbound* and westbound* carriageway of Merlin Road which extends from its roundabout junction with Hayes Way to its roundabout junction with Cribbs Causeway Regional Shopping Centre. *Eastbound and westbound closures are separate and will not take place at the same time. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon drainage connection works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 22 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration. Alternative routes: Eastbound Closure – Merlin Road, Lysander Road, Highwood Lane, Highwood Road; Westbound Closure – Highwood Road, Highwood Lane, Pegasus Road, Lysnader Road, Merlin Road
(Eastleigh Close, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the entire length of Eastleigh Close. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon lining works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 2 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 4 days duration, between 7.45am and 4.30pm. No alternative route available: cul-de-sac
(New Lane, Alveston) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of New Lane which extends from A38 Gloucester Road south westwards for 160m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with telecommunication structures works. The order will be operative from 26 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: Gloucester Road, The Street, New Lane (parts unaffected) and vice versa
(Earlstone Crescent, Cadbury Heath) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Earlstone Crescent which extends from School Road north westwards for 80m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new electricity supply works. The order became operative from 2 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. Alternative routes: 1. Earlstone Crescent, Parkwall Road, Newton Road, Park Crescent, School Road; 2. Earlstone Crescent, Queens Road, Newton Road, School Road
(Henfield Road, Pucklechurch) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Henfield Road which extends from Coxgrove Hill northwards for 141m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with overhead cabling works. The order will be operative from 26 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: Henfield Road, Westerleigh Road, Westerleigh Hill, B4465 Westerleigh Road, Parkfield Road, Coxgrove Hill and vice versa
(Public Footpath LBA/2, Badminton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath LBA/2 which extends from Badminton Road/Well Lane southwards to a point 117m north of Shop Lane. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon building and deconstruction works. The order became operative from 1 April 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 7 weeks duration. Alternative route: Signed diversion in place
(Various Roads, Kenmore Crescent Area, Filton) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Variation No. 2) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that on 20 March 2024 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is to: a) prohibit vehicles waiting, subject to specified exemptions, between the hours of 9am and 4pm on Monday to Friday (inclusive) and remove the requirement for the written authorisation for permit holders to include the registration mark of the vehicle in lengths of KENMORE CRESCENT, KENMORE DRIVE and KENMORE GROVE, Filton; and b) vary further the South Gloucestershire Council (Southern Brooks Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Consolidation) Order 2012, as varied, in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in item a) above, the provisions of which will be brought forward into the new order. Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; Post Office services; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles which display a disabled person’s badge. A further exemption is included for permit holders. The order will come into operation on 28 March 2024 and a copy thereof together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/revoked and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected at Filton Public Library, Shield Retail Park, Link Road, Filton, South Gloucestershire, during normal opening hours. Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Public Footpaths PSN/45/10 and PSN/46/10, Pucklechurch) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon footway installation works. The order will be operative from 15 April 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration. In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
