What is happening?
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications
and associated works which are being carried out on or near this
highway and it will come into operation on 14 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 13 October
2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works
will be carried out between 08:30hrs and 14:30hrs 14 April 2024.
Round Church Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-503
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Round Church Street,
Cambridge as lies between number 12 and Park Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Bridge Street – Thompsons
Lane – New Park Street – New Park.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications
and associated works which are being carried out on or near this
highway and it will come into operation on 22 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 21 October
2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works
will be carried out between 22 April and 24 April 2024.
Barton Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION
OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-508
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Barton Road,
Cambridge as lies between Clare Road and Hardwick Street.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of
Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 22 Dual
Use cycle track Barton Road, the footway on its north side from its
junction with Newnham Road to its junction with Grantchester
Road is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications
and associated works which are being carried out on or near the
cycle lane and it will come into operation on 22 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 21 October
2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each
end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on
Barton Road, Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that
these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 17:00hrs
22 April 2024.
St Johns Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-511
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along St Johns Street,
Cambridge as lies between Bridge Street and All Saints Passage.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Round Church Street –
Park Street – Jesus Lane – Four Lamps Roundabout – Maids
Causeway – Newmarket Road (C291) – A1134 – A1303 – A603 –
Trumpington Street (C296) – Trumpington Street (C294) –
Trumpington Street – Kings Parade – Senate House Hill – Trinity
Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sunken chamber
repair and associated works which are being carried out on or
near this highway and it will come into operation on 15 April 2024
and continue until these works have finished or on the 14 October
2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works
will be carried out between 15 April and 18 April 2024.
Dunsbridge Turnpike (A10) and Royston Road (A10), Shepreth
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024-514
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Dunsbridge Turnpike
(A10) and Royston Road (A10), Shepreth as lies between
Rushmore House and Shrepreth Footpath 10.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A10 – A505 – M11 – A10
and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway, footway,
cycleway improvements and associated works which are being
carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation
on 1 April 2024 and continue until these works have finished or
on the 30 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is
anticipated that these works will be carried out between 21:00hrs
and 06:00hrs 1 April to 9 June 2024.
Park Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-531
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Park Street,
Cambridge as lies between Round Church Lane and the bollards.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate hotel construction
and associated works which are being carried out on or near this
highway and it will come into operation on 22 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 21 October
2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works
will be carried out between 22 April and 30 May 2024.
West Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-408
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along West Road,
Cambridge as lies between Grange Road and the A1134.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134 – A603 – Grange
Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate fire hydrant repairs
and associated works which are being carried out on or near this
highway and it will come into operation on 1 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 30 September
2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works
will be carried out between 1 April and 14 April 2024.
Woollards Lane, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-411
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Woollards Lane, Great
Shelford as lies between Spinney Drive and the A1301.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1301 – High Street –
Woollards Lane and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection
and associated works which are being carried out on or near this
highway and it will come into operation on 15 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 14 October
2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works
will be carried out between 15 April and 19 April 2024.
Bateman Street and Francis Passage, Cambridge
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) And Coronation
Street and Panton Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY REVOCATION
OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ORDER) ORDER 2024-412
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bateman Street and
Francis Passage, Cambridge as lies between numbers 26 and 37;
Norwich Street and Bateman Street respectively.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of
Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993 as amended
by The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993
(Amendment No. 162) Order 2018 and varied by the
Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets) (Prohibition of
Driving and One-way Streets) Order 2021; Schedule 6 One-way
Streets Part 2 Roads and parts of roads in which pedal cycles
are permitted to travel in the opposite direction of the one-way
street: Panton Street (from its junction with Russell Court to its
junction with Union Road) – Direction of travel except for pedal
cycles – From south to north, Panton Street (from its junction
with Saxon Street to its junction with Lensfield Road) – Direction
of travel except for pedal cycles – From south to north is hereby
suspended.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of
Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993 as amended by The
City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993 (Amendment
No. 162) Order 2018; Schedule 6 One-way Streets Part 2 Roads
and parts of roads in which pedal cycles are permitted to travel in
the opposite direction of the one-way street: Coronation Street –
Direction of travel except for pedal cycles – From west to east is
hereby suspended.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Panton Street – Coronation
Street – A1307.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate fire hydrant repairs
and associated works which are being carried out on or near this
highway and it will come into operation on 3 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 2 October 2025
whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be
carried out between 3 April and 5 April 2024.
A505 From M11 junction 10 to Station Road East, Duxford
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024-415
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along A505 From M11
junction 10 to Station Road East, Duxford as lies between the
M11 and Royston Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via M11 – Hauxton Road –
Addenbrookes Road – A1301 – A505 or via Hill Farm Road –
West End – High Street – Duxford Road – A505 and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate installation of
vehicle restraints and associated works which are being carried
out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on
8 April 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on
the 7 October 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that
these works will be carried out between 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs
8 April and 18 April 2024.
The Causeway, Elsworth (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-416
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along The Causeway,
Elsworth as lies between Brook Street and Church Lane.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Brook Street – Church
Lane – The Causeway and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications
and associated works which are being carried out on or near this
highway and it will come into operation on 1 April 2024 and
continue until these works have finished or on the 30 September
2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works
will be carried out between 1 April and 10 April 2024.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS)
ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH DIVISION (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-42619/441
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads as set
out in Schedule 1 below.
Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from
premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.
The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate footway
slurry sealing and associated works.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 1 April 2024 and
will continue until these works have finished or on the 30
September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this
order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates
specified in the Schedule.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS)
ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH DIVISION (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY 30MPH –
20MPH SPEED LIMIT) and (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE
AND BUS LANES) ORDER 2024-459
Is to stop any vehicle, bus or cyclist from proceeding along various
roads as set out in Schedules 1, 2 and 3 below.
Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from
premises or land
adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.
The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate road
widening, junction improvements, traffic signal upgrades, new
pedestrian crossings and associated works.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 10 April 2024 and
will continue until these works have finished or on the 2 December
2024 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will
apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified
in the Schedules. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes,
when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole
or any part of the above-mentioned length of road whilst works are
in progress or temporarily suspended.
The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged
in connection with any works for which these are made, any
member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance
Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the
execution of their duties or to any person acting with the
permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
