UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(FRONT STREET, EAST GARSTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Front Street in the Parish of East Garston between its junction with Back Street and its junction with Newbury Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Back St, Rogers La, Newbury Rd, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out repairs to a leak in their network. The proposed Order will come into effect on 25th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 2nd and 4th April 2024.
(RED SHUTE HILL, HERMITAGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Red Shute Hill in Hermitage between its junction with B4009 Long Lane and its junction with Sawmill Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via B4009 Long Lane, Shaw Hill, Kiln Road, Turnpike Road, Tull Way, Bowling Green Road, Heath Lane, Cold Ash Hill, Hermitage Road, Red Shute Hill and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach safe access to carry out pole testing.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 22nd March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30 hours on 25th March 2024.
(UNNAMED ROAD FROM TINKERS CORNER TO HAMSTEAD
MARSHALL IN THE PARISHES OF KINTBURY AND HAMSTEAD MARSHALL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Unnamed Road from Tinkers Corner to Hamstead Marshall in the Parishes of Kintbury and Hamstead Marshall between its junction with Old Lane and its junction with Watery Lane.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Unnamed Rd from Holt Rd to Tinkers Corner, Newbury St, Station Rd, Bath Rd, Milkhouse Rd, Park La, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out repairs to their network. The proposed Order will come into effect on 25th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 3rd and 5th April 2024. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest. The provisions of this Order shall only apply at such times as signs in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are duly in place to indicate the said restrictions.
(VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES/TOWNS)
(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) (HIGHWAYS
MAINTENANCE WORKS) ORDER 2024
The Council made, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from exceeding 30mph in any direction of the roads listed in the Schedule below. This is to prevent any potential danger to the public or the workforce during highways maintenance works included in this order. The proposed Order will come into effect on Monday 25th March 2024. The exact date(s) of any speed restriction will be advertised on site prior to the work taking place.

(BETHESDA STREET, UPPER BASILDON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Bethesda Street in Upper Basildon between its junction with Aldworth Road and its junction with Bethesda Close. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Aldworth Rd, Hook End La, Reading Rd, Park Wall La, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out maintenance works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 8th April 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 10th and 12th April 2024.
(FAIRVIEW ROAD AND NORTH VIEW, HINGERFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Fairview Road in the Town of Hungerford between its junction with Park Street and its junction with Marlborough Court, and North View at its junction with Fairview Road. The alternative route (Fairview Road) for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Priory Ave, Priory Rd, High St (A338), Park St and vice versa. Resident and Blue light access to North View will be maintained (Gatemen to be on site to assist). The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out repairs to its network. The proposed Order will come into effect on 8th April 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 8th and 10th April 2024.
(MANOR CRESCENT, COMPTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Manor Crescent in Compton between its junction with Westfields and its junction with Newbury Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Unnamed Road from Ilsley Road to Newbury Hill, Ilsley Rd, High St, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out repairs and maintenance to their network. The proposed Order will come into effect on 8th April 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 8th and 10th April 2024.
(PANGBOURNE HILL, PARISH OF PANGBOURNE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Pangbourne Hill in Pangbourne between its junction with Bere Court Road and its junction with Unnamed Road off Pangbourne Hill. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Pangbourne Road, Yattendon Road, Gardeners Lane, Tidmarsh LaneThe Street, and Tidmarsh Road and vice versa.The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Connick Tree Care to undertake tree works on behalf of West Berkshire Council. The proposed Order will come into effect on Monday 8th April 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place on the 8th and 9th April 2024.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
