Dorset, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road/Footpath Closures due to Works

What is happening?

DORSET COUNCIL

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Dorchester

(Multevo)

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, DORCHESTER (MULTEVO): Poundbury Crescent/Damers Road/C53 to Martinstown. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 March 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 9 April 2024. Only one road will be closed at any time and each site should take one day to complete between 0930 and 1530.

This Order will enable Multevo, safe access to carry out carriageway repairs including kerbing, sign posts and iron works. An alternative route will be signed for each location.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No 14/1,

Charminster

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath no. 14/1 from grid reference SY 678 928 to grid reference SY 679 927 a distance of approximately 153 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 23 March 2024, for a period of 26 weeks.

The order is required to allow Scottish & Southern to carry out works.

Temporary Clearway of Damers Road (Part), Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 April 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months.

This Order will enable Tilbury Douglas safe ingress and egress for heavy plant vehicles to the hospital development. The effect of this Order will be;

[1] To impose temporary clearway on Damers Road between nos. 81 & 83 and nos. 93 & 95

Temporary Closure of Dorset Street, Blandford Forum

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Dorset Street, Blandford Forum between North Place and The Close, a distance of approximately 180 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 April 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 April 2024.

This Order will enable Gigaclear, safe access to carry out fibre installation works in the highway.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Closure of B3157, Swyre

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3157, SWYRE between its junction with Clay Lane and its junction with Back Lane, a distance of approximately 1300 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 0930 and 1530 on 27 March 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 27 March 2024.

This Order will enable Multevo Ltd, safe access to carry out carriageway maintenance to include kerbing, signposts and iron works.

An alternative route will be signed using: A35 - B3159 - A354 - B3157
