What is happening?

BOROUGH OF RUNNYMEDE (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT) (NO.1) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Runnymede Borough Council made the above-named Order on 18 March 2024 under Sections 32 and 35(1) and (3) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act.
The effect of the Order was to amend the Borough of Runnymede (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2008.
This amendment would reflect the following proposals:
- To increase parking charges by 20 and 10 pence for Town and Out of Town car parks
- Increase all day parking by 50p
- Extend Monday to Saturday fees to include Sundays
- Increase parking permit charges
- The free period for Homewood Park car park should be reduced from three hours to 90 minutes
- Re-introduce parking charges at Pooley Green car park for the first 60 minutes

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant sections of the Act of 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of those sections or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the making of the Order may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made (such date mentioned above) make application for the purpose to the High Court.
