What is happening?

Westmorland And Furness Council (A593 Torver To Coniston And U5011 Lake Road, Coniston) (Coniston 14 Road Race) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Coniston 14 Road Race ("the Event") in Coniston, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road;

Phase 1 - A593 Torver to Coniston, from its junction with the A5084 Torver, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 3950m.

Duration: Between 1030 hours and 1130 hours on Saturday 23 March 2024.

Phase 2 - U5011 Lake Road, Coniston, from its junction with the A593, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 215m.

Duration: Between 1030 hours and 1500 hours on Saturday 23 March 2024.

There are no suitable alternative routes available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 23 March 2024 and may continue in force for a period of up to three days from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required on Saturday 23 March 2024 at the times stated above.
