THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL

(A701 EDINBURGH ROAD, PENICUIK) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 TTRO/R 5.4.230

Notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works on the A701 Edinburgh Road there will be closures as noted below

(1)    Queensway - at its junction with the A701 Edinburgh Road across the junction for approximately 2 metres, covering the bellmouth back to the crossing point.

(2)    Eastfield Farm Road - at its junction with the A701 Edinburgh Road across the junction for approximately 2 metres, covering the bellmouth back to the crossing point.

(3)    The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 2 April 2024.  The work is expected to take around 3 weeks to complete. Pedestrian access will be maintained. THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (PARKING PLACES FOR DISABLED MOTORISTS) (VARIATION NO 1) ORDER 2024   -  TO/R5.3.105

The Council on 18 March 2024 made the above Order, which will come into force on 31 March 2024.  The effect, as stated in the Advertiser dated 15 February 2024, is to add further enforceable parking bays for disabled motorists to the existing Order which lists all such bays in Midlothian. 

THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (PARKING PLACES FOR DISABLED MOTORISTS) (VARIATION NO 2) ORDER 2024   -  TO/R5.3.106

The Council on 18 March 2024 made the above Order, which will come into force on 31 March 2024.  The effect is to remove from the Parent Order ‘Disabled’ parking bays which are no longer needed, and thus to make these spaces available for general parking.

Details of both Orders may be examined at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk, at Libraries or from david.chambers@midlothian.gov.uk until 29 April 2024. Anyone wishing to question the validity of either Order or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of such Act or of any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with, may until 29 April 2024 make application for this purpose to the Court of Session.
