NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Various Roads in Leigh Woods, Failand, and Long Ashton, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Temporary No Loading or Waiting Restriction, Temporary One Way Order 2024
Date coming into force: 25 May 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-024
Will be to restrict, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for authorised event vehicles, authorised vehicles for enforcement purposes and for public transport and shuttle buses as indicated in the Traffic Management Plan when instructed by event control. Resident Road Closure Pass Holders to be allowed through manned closure points. Resident Pass Holders to be allowed to park in temporary resident parking zones.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public and in the interests of safety and as a means of segregating traffic from pedestrians during the events (Love Saves the Day - LSTD) and the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta - (BIBF) being staged at the Ashton Court Estate in Long Ashton. It is anticipated that the following restrictions will be in effect on the dates and times shown in the schedule below and when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs and cones. It will become operative on the 25 May 2024 in phases for Love Saves the Day and Bristol International Balloon Fiesta for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures and restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the events. Appropriate traffic signs and cones will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of use by vehicles - Abbots Leigh Road (A369) from its junction with Beggar Bush Lane to Rownham Hill to the boundary of North Somerset/Bristol. Clevedon Road, Failand B3128 from A370 to Begger Bush Lane/Weston Road

A370 Long Ashton By-pass from Colliters Way Roundabout inbound towards Bristol for approximately 1040m to the boundary of North Somerset/Bristol (LSTD/BIBF 21:00hrs to 02:00hrs).
Ashton Road (B3128) - North Slip Road from A370 to Ashton Road, South Slip Road between Ashton Road and the A370 from the junction of Long Aston Road to the traffic lights outside the Park and Ride (LSTD).
Longwood Lane, Long Ashton for its full extent (LSTD from 10:00hrs to 02:00hrs each day) and (BIBF 19:00 to 02:00hrs each day). Temporary One-Way Order - B3128 Clevedon Road from its junction with Longwood Lane to Beggar Bush Lane in a westerly direction (only at times when traffic signs are displayed to give effect to the order) (BIBF).

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 13 May 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-041
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace sluice valve. This will become operative on the 13 May 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. This will become operative on the 4 April 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. Date coming into force: 8 April 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-009
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Taylor Wimpey for footpath and drainage works for new development. This will become operative on the 8 April 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is now anticipated to commence 15 April 2024 and be of 29 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers Order 2024
Date coming into force: 4 April 2024
Ref: Footpath LA22/24 King Charles III England Coastal Path
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to all pedestrians the length of Footpath LA22/24 specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public following a landslip of the adjacent coastline. This will become operative on the 4 April 2024 for a maximum period of 6 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period or may be further extended dependant on the works that need to be done to render this area safe for public use. Appropriate notices will be displayed.
Schedule - No foot passenger shall proceed along Public Footpath LA22/24 from its junction with steps from Bay Road to its junction with Footpath LA22/27 (leading to Castle Farm Golf Club) approximately 412m.
Alternative Routes - Follow steps up to Bay Road, along Bay Road to its junction with Castle Road. Turn left onto Castle Road and continue to its junction with Footpath LA22/25. Turn left onto this footpath and continue to its junction with Castle Farm. Turn left onto Footpath LA22/26, continue to its junction with LA22/27 where you turn left and continue on this footpath until its junction with LA22/24 and vice versa.

Highways Act 1980 Section 119

(Part of Footpath AX 16/12, King George V Jubilee Playing Fields, Stonewell Drive, Congresbury)
Public Path Diversion Order No. 3 2024 - Ref: LEB/PPO206
The above Order, made on 6 March 2024, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert part of Public Footpath LA 21/31 in the Parish of Congresbury within the district of North Somerset from point A (grid ref. ST 43751 63555) running in a South, South Westerly direction to point B (grid ref. ST 43747 63486) through to point C (grid ref ST43764 63467 to point D (grid ref. ST 43749 63446).
The existing footpath is 125m in length with a pasture surface in the field and a concrete slab surface around the Recreation Club Building to footpath from point A (grid ref. ST ST43751 63555), running in a South Easterly direction to point E (grid reference ST 43772 63515), through point F (grid reference ST 43755 63479) to point G (grid ref. ST 43736 63458) to point D (grid ref. ST 43749 63446).
The proposed new footpath will be approximately 133m in length, with a width of 90cm as it currently exists. The proposed path has a concrete slab surface as already exists at the playing field perimeter.
The proposal is shown on the Order Map No. PPO 206. The existing route is shown with a bold black line and the proposed route shown by bold black dashes. References to lettered points in this notice are references to points marked on the Order Map.

- 40mph Speed Limit Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that on the 14 March 2024, North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to restrict any vehicle exceeding 40mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. The order comes into operation on the 21 March 2024. Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
