What is happening?
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Station Road (C57) Betchworth, Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Station Road (C57) Betchworth, Dorking which extends from its junction with Reigate Road (A25) to the northern property boundary line of “Springfield Cottage”.
Alternative Route – Old Reigate Road (D309) and Reigate Road (A25) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 days, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 March 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, emergency vehicles, residents and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Salmons Lane (D1388) Whyteleafe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding that length of Salmons Lane (D1388) Whyteleafe as extends from its junction with (A22) Godstone Road to its junction with (X35195) The Avenue. Alternative Route – Salmons Lane; Whyteleafe Hill; and A22 Godstone Road or this same route in reverse. This 18-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 31 March 2024 is required to facilitate level crossing renewal works and/or general maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Network Rail within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 nights between the hours of 2am and 4am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times by operatives on site.
Ruckmans Lane (D293) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ruckmans Lane (D293) Dorking as extends from its junction with (X68505) Ruckmans Lane to its junction with (A29) Stane Street. Alternative Route: (A29) Stane Street, Okewood Hill, and Ruckmans Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to carry out new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between 8.30am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
No sole access will be affected by this closure.
West Road (B2034) and Lesbourne Road (B2034) Reigate Temporary Prohibition of Waiting Loading and Unloading Order 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of; (a) West Road (B2034) Reigate as extends from its junction with (B2034) Lesbourne Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.8 and No.10 West Road; (b) Lesbourne Road (B2034) Reigate as extends from its junction with (B2034) West Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.40 and No.42 Lesbourne Road. This Temporary Order is required to facilitate utility and excavation works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 12 April 2024. This temporary restriction will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Court Road (D1426) and Park Road (D1426) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Court Road (D1426) Caterham as extends from its junction with (D1426) Birch Avenue to its junction with (D1426) Poplar Walk. Alternative Route: Court Road, (B2031) Chaldon Road, (B2030) High Street, and Court Road, or this route in reverse. (b) Park Road (D1426) Caterham as extends from its junction with (B2031) Chaldon Road to its junction with (D1426) Poplar Walk. Alternative Route: (B2031) Chaldon Road, (B2030) High Street, and Park Road. This Order is required to facilitate renewal of drainage system works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Various Roads in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to facilitate developmental works for, or on behalf of McNicholas Construction Services Ltd. These works will be carried out over 3 phases. Phase 1: will be carried out over 5 days; Phase 2: will be carried out over 18 days; and Phase 3: will be carried out over 6 days, all between the hours of 7am and 7pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates, if necessary, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

(1) that length of Tandridge Lane (C83) Tandridge as extends from its junction with (D419) Crowhurst Lane End to its junction with (C86) Mile Lane. Alternative Route: Miles Lane, (A22) Eastbourne Road, (B2029) The Common, and Tandridge Lane, or this route in reverse;
(2) the entire length of Caterfield Lane (D408) Oxted. Alternative Route: Pikes Lane, Crowhurst Lane, Haxted Road, and Dwelly Lane, or this route in reverse; (3) that length of Tilburstow Hill Road (D395) South Godstone as extends from its junction with (X34168) Terracotta Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Rosedene”. Alternative Route: Tilburstow Hill Road, (A22) Eastbourne Road, and (B2236) Eastbourne Road, or this route in reverse.
Markedge Lane (D1157) Merstham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Markedge Lane D1157 Merstham as extends from its junction with D1158 Harps Oak Lane to its junction with the access to the property known as “Lodge Farm”; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Markedge Lane (D1157) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: Harps Oak Lane, A23 London Road North, Gatton Bottom, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out telecom utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 03 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

(1) That length of Antlands Lane (B2037) Smallfield as extends from the boundary between the County of Surrey and the County of West Sussex to its junction with (B2037) Keepers Corner; (2) The entire length of Keepers Corner (B2037) Burstow; (3) That length of Keepers Corner (C67) Burstow as extends from its junction with (C67) Redehall Road, (B2037) Effingham Road and (B2037) Keepers Corner to its junction with (C67) Copthorne Bank; (4) That length of Copthorne Bank (C67) Copthorne as extends from its junction with (B2037) Keepers Corner to its junction with (X10189) Oaklands Drive;(5) That length of Effingham Road (B2037) Burstow and Copthorne as extends from its junction with (C67) Redehall Road and (B2037) Keepers Corner to a point 60 metres northwest of its junction with (D367) Effingham Lane.
Copley Close (D1255) Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that entire length of Copley Close (D1255) Redhill. There is no alternative route for this closure. This Order is required to carry out new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between 8am and 4pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for vehicular traffic including residents and emergency services will be restricted within the working hours, however, road plates will be added out of hours. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24 hour period.
Lunghurst Road (D1361) Woldingham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Lunghurst Road (D1361) Woldingham which extends from its junction with Halliloo Valley Road (D1359) to the northern property boundary line of “Down End”.Alternative Route – Halliloo Valley Road (D1359), Slines Oak Road (D1360) and Lunghurst Road (D1361) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8:30am and 4:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, emergency vehicles, residents and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Church Lane (C72) Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Lane (C72) Godstone which extends from its junction with Oxted Road (A25) to its junction with Bullbeggars Lane (D399). Alternative Route – Bullbeggars Lane (D399), Eastbourne Road (B2236), High Street (B2236), High Street (A25) and Oxted Road (A25) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, emergency vehicles, residents and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Blackberry Lane (D412) Lingfield and Station Road (D412) Dormansland Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Blackberry Lane (D412) Lingfield and Station Road (D412) Dormansland which extends from its junction with Swissland Hill (D412) to its junction with Mill Lane (X34056). Blackberry Lane (D412), Blackberry Road (D412), Felcourt road (C88), East Grinstead Road (C88), Town Hill (B2028), Racecourse Road (B2028), Dormans Road (C91), Hollow Lane (C91), Mutton Hill (D412) and Station Road (D412) or the same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 3 nights, between 9:00pm and 6:00am, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, emergency vehicles, residents and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Beechwood Gardens (D1406) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Beechwood Gardens (D1406) Caterham which extends from its junction with Tillingdown Hill (D1405) to the northwestern property boundary line of “28 Beechwood Gardens”. Alternative Route – Beechwood Gardens (D1406), Croydon Road (B2208), Highfield Road (D1405) and Tillingdown Hill (D1405) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8:30am and 2:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 April 2024.

Waterhouse Lane (B2032) Kingswood
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned
Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Waterhouse Lane (B2032) Kingswood as extends from a point in line with the western boundary of the property known as “Woodcot” to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the property known as “Hornbeams”. Alternative Route: (B2032) Outwood Lane, (B2219) Lower Park Road, (B2219) Holly Lane, (B2219) Bolters Lane, (A2022) Bolters Lane, (A217) Brighton Road, (B2032) Bonsor Drive, and (B2032) Waterhouse Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of; (a) Warwick Wold Road (D388) Merstham; (b) that length of Pendell Road (C69) Bletchingley as extends from its junction with (C69) Bletchingley Road to its junction with (D389 Big Common Lane and (D389) Sandy Lane. Alternative Route: (1) Hilltop Lane, (B2031) Rook Lane, (B2031) Dean Lane, (B2031) Alderstead Lane, (B2031) Shepherds Hill, (A23) London Road North, (A23) High Street, School Hill, and Bletchingley Road, or this route in reverse; (2) Little Common Lane, (A25) Castle Street, (A25) Bletchingley Road, (A25) High Street, (A25) Nutfield Road, (A25) Redstone Hill, (A23) Marketfield Way, (A23) Princess Way, (A23) London Road, (A23) London Road South, School Hill, and Blechingley Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate mains water replacement works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out in 3 phases over 8 months, between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
