What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford made the Salford City Council (A580 East Lancashire Road, Junction With Worsley Road, Salford) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The Order will close A580 East Lancashire Road and Worsley Road at night time. The phase schedule will be as follows; Phase 1 - closure of Eastbound A580 and full closure of Worsley Road (north junction) Phase 2 - Westbound closure of A580 and full closure of Worsley Road (south junction). Phase 3 - Full closure of Worsley Road (south junction Diversion routes signed locally will as follows; Phase 1 Diversion: Moorside Road - A6 Chorley Road - A6 Manchester Road - A580. Phase 2 Diversion: A6 Manchester Road - A6 Chorley Road - Moorside Road - A580. Phase 3 Diversions: (i)Moorside Road (south junction) - Worsley Road ; and (ii) Worsley Road (north) - A6 Chorley Road - A6 Manchester Road - Moorside Road.
The Order is required to be closed so carriageway resurfacing can take place.
The Order is due to come into operation on the 25 March 2024 and shall continue in force for a period of 7 weeks provided that if the council determines that the order is no longer necessary in relation to the works then this order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

A copy of the Order and a plan of the area may be examined at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm to Fri inclusive.
