U909 Tower Hill - Road Closure to Allow New Connection Works to Be Carried Out by Various Utilities
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (U909 TOWER HILL, ORMSKIRK, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of U909 Tower Hill, Ormskirk from property number 10 to property number 12.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0830 hours on Friday 29th March 2024 until 1630 hours on Sunday 14th April 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. Residents access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure are as follows:-

Anticlockwise Diversion
U1033 Greetby Hill, Ormskirk - U902 Derby Street, West of Stanley Street - A570 Stanley Street, Ormskirk - A577 Wigan Road, Ormskirk - U909 Tower Hill, Ormskirk
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new connection works to be carried out by various utilities, Tom Owen Plant Hire and CFA Civils in relation to the new development.
