What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS)

(TTO 2247) ORDER 2024

(HAMLET COURT ROAD BRIDGE STEPS)

Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea City Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made the above Order. The effect of the Order will be as follows:

1. The Council and its contractors will be carrying out essential maintenance to the steps treads and cleaning of the steps leading from the bridge to Station Road.

2. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians using the steps as detailed in Table 1 to this notice.

3. The Order and suspensions will come into effect on 18th March 2024 to 29th March 2024; but this notice will remain in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier and will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs.

4. Access for emergency vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the works, will be maintained during the suspension.

5. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice.
