What is happening?

(DISTRICT OF SUFFOLK COASTAL) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019
(WOODBRIDGE) (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (VARIATION NO. 14) ORDER 2024
On 13/03/2024 Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1,2, and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 1 of Map Tiles FS146, FT145 and FU145 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tiles and, substitute revision 2 of Map Tiles FS145 in place or revision 1 of the same Map Tiles into the above-named 2019 order, as amended.
The effect of which is:
No waiting between:
• Dock Lane (U3629), Woodbridge, 67 metres southeast of the junction with Melton Road for 30 metres in an easterly direction to south of Dock Lane from Monday - Friday between the hours of 8.30am - 9.30am and 3pm - 4pm.
No waiting at any time:
• Melton Road (B1438), Melton, Woodbridge, west side, across the vehicular access to the recreation ground for 18 metres
• Melton Road (B1438), Woodbridge, east side, across the entrance to private road Fayrefield Road for 17.3 metres
• Melton Hill (B1438), Melton, Woodbridge, west side, from a point of 15 metres north of the centre of its junction with Old Mailings Approach (also known as Sutton Heights) for 20 metres in a northerly direction (opposite new pedestrian island)
• Melton Hill (B1438), Melton, Woodbridge, east side, from a point of 15 metres north of the centre of the junction with Old Mailings Approach (also known as Sutton heights) for 63 metres in a northerly direction to protect the entrance of New Quay Lane end at the boundary of Woodleigh and Villa. This removes a small length of limited waiting just north of Old Maltings Approach (also known as Sutton Heights)
• Private road, Deben Meadows, Melton, Woodbridge, on both sides for 5 metres to protect the junction
• Melton Road (B1438), Melton Woodbridge, east side, protect across the junction of Deben Meadows for 22 metres
• Melton Road (B1438), Melton, Woodbridge, west side, protect opposite the junction of Deben Meadows (pedestrian gate) for 10 metres
• Melton Road (B1438), Melton, Woodbridge, west side, across the entrance of Hackney Road (private) for 12 metres
• Wilford Bridge Road (A1152), Melton, Woodbridge, south side, rear of the layby for 34.4 metres and front of the layby 15.2 metres
• Melton Road (B1438), Melton. Woodbridge, on both sides to protect the new crossing island by The Coach and Horses PH", for 20 metres both sides. Also for 85 metres south of its junctions with Dock Lane in a north-easterly direction.
Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload' for building, industrial or demolition works; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for Blue Badge holders.
A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 25/03/2024, may be seen at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday: also at Woodbridge Library, New Street, Woodbridge IP12 1DT, 10am - 5pm Monday; 9am - 6.30pm Tuesday; 9am - 5.30pm Wednesday and Thursday; 9am - 7pm Friday; 9am - 5pm Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday.
If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
