Biscot Road, Shirley Road - Temporary Road Closures
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF LUTON
(VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) (No.7) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 18th March 2024 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Order will come into operation on 27th April 2024 for a period of 6 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.
The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
Biscot Road from Waldeck Road to a point outside No.5 Biscot Road. Diversion route via Waldeck Road, Bury Park Road, Moor Street, Dunstable Road, Waldeck Road, Cromwell Road, New Bedford Road, Lansdowne Road, Biscot Road. Anticipated dates and times of closure 27th April 2024 to 28th April 2024, 9am to 5pm.
Shirley Road from a point outside No.8 Shirley Road to Dallow Road. Diversion route via Wimborne Road, Clifton Road, Dallow Road. Anticipated dates and times of closure 29th April 2024 to 1st May 2024, 8am to 4pm.
The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period within the date described as above. The purpose of the Order is to allow essential mains water works to be carried out. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic will be marked by signs.
