What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(A65 AYNAM ROAD AND NETHER BRIDGE, KENDAL)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge repair works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of the A65:-

1. Aynam Road, Kendal from its junction with Nether Bridge extending in a north easterly direction for approx 30m.

2. Nether Bridge, Kendal from its junction with Aynam Road extending in a north westerly direction for its entire length.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via Lound Road (A65), Romney Road (A6) and Milnthorpe Road (A6).

The Order will come into operation on 18th March 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 11 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
